From what I know Diabetes Type 2 can be reversed if the patient looses enough weight, so to me it seems that GLP-1 agonist drugs are enough. For more info, please read the article.

loperamide is an OTC drug, sold in many countries, like antidiarrheal medication.in recent years, reports of cases of high doses loperamide abuse have increased, with, in some cases, daily doses of more than 50 -200 mg/day (therapeutic range is 4-8 mg/day). At those doses, loperamide can have cardiotoxic effect, interacting with membrane ion channels.
