In our last post about talent acquisition, we talked about Upskilling as one of the methods of filling a vacancy without looking outside the organization. Today we will focus on Reskilling and their differences. So, Reskilling is the process of learning new skills to change the role and do a different job as a result. That is, unlike Upskilling, which aims at vertical development, you can use reskilling if your employee wants horizontal development in the company. Or if a certain role in the company is no longer relevant, but you don’t want to lose valuable talent. Reskilling shows that management cares about the future. Because, firstly, reskilling makes it possible to avoid layoffs, demotivation of employees and a drop in productivity. And secondly, it allows you to save money on searching for talent outside the organization, which will only become more expensive over time.
