Be Present. Celebrate Fully. Liberate Others. In the busyness of the season, it’s easy to rush through moments with those we lead and love. But true connection happens when we are fully present, choosing to celebrate the unique value of each person at the table. At GiANT, we encourage the practice of a Celebration Dinner—a simple yet powerful way to liberate others by honoring them. Choose a topic or a person, and take turns sharing what you appreciate, admire, or celebrate about them. This intentional act of uninterrupted presence fosters deeper relationships and creates a culture of gratitude, affirmation, and freedom. Ask Yourself: How can I show up fully present for those I lead and love? Who do I need to celebrate today? Liberating leadership starts with seeing, honoring, and valuing others. This season, let’s commit to being present, so we can celebrate fully and lead with greater impact. #GiANTWorldwide #LiberatingLeadership #CelebrateWell #BePresent

From the family unit to the highest levels of leadership, may love be the foundation upon which we build our actions and decisions. Let there be a commitment to see and value the intrinsic worth of every individual, regardless of their background, status, or differences. In our homes, let love guide how we nurture, support, and strengthen one another. In leadership, let love inspire fairness, compassion, and the pursuit of a greater good that uplifts all of humanity. When love and a deep respect for the value of others are demonstrated, they create ripples of kindness, unity, and hope that can transform families, communities, and nations. True leadership—whether in a household or a global stage—is marked by a heart to serve and an unwavering commitment to honor the shared dignity of every person. Let us build a world where love is not just spoken but lived out in ways that elevate and unite us all. #StopDevaluation #HigherLivingLeadership #leadership #love #value

In her wonderful book "Dignity: Its Essential Role in Resolving Conflict," Donna Hicks highlights how honouring each person's inherent worth is fundamental to meaningful relationships. This principle resonates deeply with my research on leading community singing groups. Skilled singing group leaders intuitively understand the concept of dignity. They: 1. Acknowledge each participant's presence and unique voice 2. Listen attentively, showing that everyone's contribution matters 3. Create a safe space where vulnerability is welcomed 4. Help each person in the group to feel seen and heard By honouring the dignity of every singer, these leaders foster an environment where genuine human connection flourishes. Singing together becomes more than just making music – it's an experience of ubuntu, as Archbishop Desmond Tutu describes: "We can only be human together." Honouring dignity transforms singing groups into powerful vehicles for social connection, personal growth, and joy. #Dignity #SocialConnection #Singing #Leadership

Love is multifaceted in its essence, yet our expectations often paint a singular picture of it. The narratives we've grown up with and the tales we've heard shape our perception of love, almost like a filter, limiting our receptivity to its many forms. Recognizing and embracing the diverse expressions of care, support, and commitment is key to enriching our connections in both personal bonds and professional collaborations. As we let go of preconceived notions and open ourselves to the vast spectrum of love, we can deepen our relationships and foster a more inclusive environment. This realization isn't just about personal growth; it extends into the professional realm. In leadership and teamwork, broadening our understanding of how appreciation and respect can be shown and received paves the way for more authentic and meaningful engagements. #Leadership #ProfessionalGrowth #EmotionalIntelligence #Diversity #Inclusion

Lately, I've been thinking about why kindness seems to be in such short supply. It strikes me that amidst the rush to succeed, the power of simple kindness is often overlooked, yet its impact is profound. The workplace can be challenging, with an undercurrent of competition that skews towards negativity. Imagine the shift towards positivity if we prioritized acts of appreciation and positive feedback in our daily interactions. I believe in leading with kindness. It opens doors and builds bridges. In our quest for excellence, how we treat each other can define the success of our endeavors and the quality of our time together. When we're kind, we bring everyone along and move a step closer to achieving inclusivity. Here's to making kindness a cornerstone of our leadership and interactions. It's a choice that can elevate us all. #LeadershipWithKindness #CultivateInclusivity #PositiveImpact

DEI is controversial because people have felt the absence of it, the burden of it, the failure of it, or—its success. Drastic extremes. It's hard for people to even agree on what diversity, equity, and inclusion means. During the beta reading phase of my book, there was a such a storm around the chapter on work culture that I wanted to toss it. But then the Holy Spirit pointed out the irony in that. 〰️Some companies check the box and put all the right words in their marketing materials with zero intention of doing anything more. 〰️Others create DEI policies but don’t support their managers or leaders in carrying them out. 〰️Some leaders value DEI as part of the work culture and others dismiss it. The bottom line? DEI is messy. There’s no easy way to manage it, whether your company has a formal program or you’re simply trying to pave the way on principle. ➡️ Why should Christians care about DEI? ❤️ I think about Jesus and how He *had* to go through Samaria. How He went against social, religious, and cultural conventions to have a conversation with a woman who was marginalized multiple times over. He didn’t do what was easy; He did what was right. He created the change and set the example. Let’s follow it. We can’t solve messy problems by pretending they don’t exist. #leadership #companyculture #workculture #theologymatters #sacredwork #DEI

As Wicked hit the big screen, it’s more than just a magical story about witches—it’s a powerful narrative that mirrors the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). The tale challenges us to look beyond stereotypes, question systemic biases, and celebrate the beauty of our differences. Elphaba, the misunderstood “Wicked Witch,” represents those who are judged for being different. Her journey highlights the importance of empathy, understanding, and advocating for those marginalized by society. Meanwhile, Glinda’s transformation from privilege to allyship reminds us that true leadership means using our voices and influence to create a fairer world. At its core, Wicked is a story of belonging—of how seeing beyond labels and embracing others’ unique perspectives can lead to a more inclusive, harmonious community. It’s a reminder that everyone deserves a chance to be seen, heard, and valued. As we watch this enchanting story unfold, let’s reflect on how we can dismantle bias, foster connection, and rewrite our own narratives to build a world where everyone can thrive. #WickedTheMovie #DEI #Belonging #InclusionMatters
I saw Wicked over the weekend, and I absolutely loved it. A few quotes stood out to me: “You’ll find that if you make it discouraging enough, you can silence anyone.” “The best way to bring people together is to give them a really good enemy.” They’ve made DEI the enemy, but us practioners won’t be silenced. Temporary quiet is fine; find and lean into your peace. But don't let them discourage you to the point of indefinite silence. Remember: *Everyone* deserves the chance to fly. And we as DEI leaders (or whatever you want to call it) are here to make sure that everybody has a fair, equitable, and meaningful chance at success. P.S. - Did you see Wicked? What did you think? I can’t stop singing the soundtrack around the house…🤣

We are living in a world where division is often encouraged, it’s crucial that we stand together to remove hate from our society. True leadership is about fostering unity and breaking down the barriers that seek to separate us. When we lead with empathy, kindness, and understanding, we create a ripple effect that can transform our communities. Open dialogue and genuine connections are the foundations of a harmonious society. Let’s listen to one another, respect our differences, and celebrate our shared humanity. Call to Action: Reach out to someone different from you today. Learn their story. Share yours. Together, we can build bridges instead of walls. Show kindness to those who are struggling. Young people shouldn't have that kind of hatred in their heart. Lead by example! Real leadership is about bringing people together. Let’s lead by example and create a world where love triumphs over hate. It starts with each of us! #Leadership #Unity #Empathy #LoveOverHate #Leadership

Once upon a time, there was a gifted artist who was blessed with an extraordinary ability to create breathtaking masterpieces. However, despite being praised for his stunning works, he would often act out in anger and frustration, alienating those around him. The community admired his talent, but his behavior pushed them away. One day, a wise elder approached him, "Your talent is truly a gift, but your behavior, my friend, is a choice. You can either opt to let your gifts bloom by nurturing connections, or you can choose to isolate yourself. Remember, every stroke of your brush is a choice that reflects the gift within you." Today, I implore all leaders to ponder this simple narrative. Leadership, like artistry, requires a balance of gifts and choices. Your personality is indeed a gift, but your behavior is a choice that can either uplift or diminish your influence. Look in the mirror today and ask yourself, "How will my behavior reflect the gift that I've been given? How will I use my gift to serve others through my actions?" Remember, every choice we make has a ripple effect on those around us. Choose wisely. #leadership #behaviour #choice #gift #impact #personaldevelopment #changemakers

As a speaker, I was recently asked this question: "What advice would you give to young women aspiring to leadership roles?" LOVE that question. Such an important one. My answer: "First of all, I want to say thank you. Your voice matters, and it needs to be heard. Not gonna lie—it’s tough work. We’re in the midst of a major culture shift in business right now, and what was the standard in a business, a left-brain dominated world where profit was above people, community, and nature - is being challenged. The world needs compassionate, creative, and well-rounded leaders. And it happens to be that women have been caring for their families and communities for thousands of years. So you are already part of a lineage of strong, purposeful, and caring beings that have held the world together since the dawn of time. So, go for it! And if I can give you one piece of advice, it’s this: Love yourself passionately, because if you don’t, you’ll always be waiting for someone to give you permission. But the work that needs to be done right now can’t wait for the permission of the people in power, whose ways have placed us in the mess we’re currently in. It needs to stem from your heart, your truth, and what you know needs to be done. So if you don’t love yourself fully and unconditionally yet, invest in developing that love. Also, invest daily in meditating and strengthening your clarity and purpose, because it will be questioned every day. And we need it to shine bright." (Addendum: And I have just the book you need to support that exploration. Such a GEM!) (The Female Quotient, Shelley Zalis, Sylvie Gasana, MBA, Sevrine Labelle - I thought you might have something else to contribute! 💕 )
