🚀 Innovating at the edge with France 2030's support 🚀 Thanks to support from the French government through the France 2030 program I-Nov and from the European Union via Next Generation EU under the France Relance plan, we have been expanding Aru's interaction abilities, from tele-operation ergonomy to general purpose modules and tools 🤖🛠️ Here you can see Aru with its first application specific module : an agile wrist adding rotational freedom. 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦: 𝐄𝐑𝐅 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 Over 1,300 attendees from European research, industry, and politics, with more than 60 sponsors and an extensive program on robotics and artificial intelligence (AI): The top-class European Robotics Forum (ERF) of euRobotics, the European Robotics Association, will take place in Stuttgart's Liederhalle from March 25-27, 2025. The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft with the Fraunhofer institutes IPA and IAO, the University of Stuttgart and Cyber Valley are cooperation partners. The state capital Stuttgart and other partners also support ERF. For the first time in its 15 years, ERF is coming to Germany. In spring 2025, the European robotics community will meet at its flagship event in the Liederhalle, located in the heart of Stuttgart. ERF is the most important European event for robotics and AI and this year's theme is “Boosting the Synergies between Robotics and AI for a stronger Europe”. The aim is to bring together research and industry, present the current state of robotics and AI on a large stage and help shape future technological developments. Recharged and Ready ⚡ A little time to step back and reflect has me buzzing with anticipation for what’s to come. 2024 was a transformative year for the Gov and Defence sector and for Wazoku. We saw extraordinary shifts that are reshaping the global landscape of innovation delivery. AI continued to dominate, with advanced machine learning models driving decision-making, logistics, and situational awareness. Defence departments invested heavily in autonomous systems, from drones to unmanned ground vehicles. Space and cybersecurity became critical priorities, while sustainability and cross-sector collaboration gained momentum. 🌱 Open innovation models and flexible procurement practices encouraged start-up partnerships, fuelling rapid prototyping. Emerging technologies like digital twins, quantum computing, and hypersonics shaped a global tech race, redefining the future of defence strategies. Meanwhile, Wazoku listened and evolved, paving the way for a 2025 rich with evolutionary progress on our Total Innovation journey.🚀 The difference is, we’ve been laser-focused on what the sector truly needs, responding with powerful solutions in innovation management, market intelligence, and technology scouting. By aggregating and analysing diverse data, our tools deliver actionable insights to help tackle complex challenges with confidence. SMART’s Mens, Manus, and Machina (M3S) interdisciplinary research group organised a forum titled ‘The Future of Work: AI-Enhanced Robotics and Human Interaction Research in M3S’ at the recent IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2024). The event saw attendance by researchers, academics and industry professionals worldwide, including professors and researchers from SMART, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and other leading institutions. For the first time, dozens of humanoid robots are expected to join a half-marathon to be held in the capital’s Daxing district in April, according to local authorities. This comes as China ramps up efforts to develop artificial intelligence and robotics, to gain an edge in the tech rivalry with the US as well as combat the challenges of an ageing society and a falling birth rate. Some 12,000 humans will take part in the coming race – and running alongside them on the 21km (13-mile) route will be robots from more than 20 companies, according to the administrative body of Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, or E-Town.
