Celebrating the Success of Women in Tech 2024! Yesterday's #WomeninTech2024 event was a resounding success, thanks to the insightful discussions and the inspiring presence of H.E. Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi. The Portuguese Business Council - UAE was captivated by the exploration of how #AI is transforming industries and empowering women to innovate in fields like #healthcare, #technology, #business creation, media, and entertainment. We also delved into the crucial role of women in AI development, ensuring that diverse perspectives shape the future of technology. The panel discussions highlighted the importance of gender diversity in AI, the challenges women face in the industry, and the collective efforts needed to build a more inclusive future in tech. Furthermore, we explored how AI is revolutionizing healthcare. The panel discussed the critical role of AI in early detection, personalized care, and preventive health solutions for women. It was inspiring to hear about the innovative solutions that are reshaping the future of healthcare and improving outcomes for women globally. Always a privilege to hear the thoughts of Mohamed Alameri, PhD, AFHEA, and Dr. Hawaa Althahak Almansoori. Joana de Almeida had the privilege of participating in a thought-provoking panel discussion titled "AI, Government, and Gender Equality." Expert panelists shared their insights on how AI can reshape governance, drive gender equality, and empower women in leadership roles. The Portuguese Business Council - UAE is committed to fostering an ecosystem that supports equity, and innovation, and empowers more women to excel in the tech industry. Reflecting on the strides made in tech, this year's UN theme for #InternationalWomensDay resonates deeply. Despite the progress, we must acknowledge the road ahead, particularly what must be done to tackle the underrepresentation of women in tech roles across South Africa and the continent. At CAPACITI, we recognise this reality and actively empower women through digital skills development. Our current cohorts boast an impressive 61% female participation, surpassing our own average of 53% over the past few years.
