The program is funded through Prop 400, approved by voters in 2004, to be renewed via Prop 479 in Nov. That funding encompasses litter pickup, sweeping, and landscape maintenance, as well as education and prevention. From 2018 to 2022, 32 people died on Arizona highways due to unsecured loads. In 2022, there were 1,100 crashes and nine fatalities related to dangerous debris in AZ.

What a great way to use ODB's DCL800SM25. Check this out! From Pierce County's Website (https://lnkd.in/eWFatc_W) What issues will the truck address? Scattered litter along roads: This work will help us improve the look of our community and keep litter out of our storm drainage system. Roadside leaf removal: The truck will also be used to remove leaves from ditches and areas with a high concentration of deciduous trees during the fall months to help keep leaves out of our storm drainage system. Illegal dumping along roads: The truck can vacuum up smaller, lighter bags of trash. Larger items will be removed by crews and transported in trailers or dump trucks. Where will we use the truck? Type of road: The truck will be used along high volume roads and lower volume roads with reported litter in unincorporated Pierce County. Routes: We are currently developing our program, including determining the truck's regular route and identifying locations with reoccurring litter. https://lnkd.in/e4ccYzTN

Burke County Debris Removal Alert! Clearing debris is a crucial part of recovery efforts in Burke County, and we’ve got you covered! Starting Monday, Oct. 14, debris pickup services will begin and continue for the coming weeks and months – at no cost to residents! Here’s what you need to know to make the process as smooth as possible: Do NOT bring debris to the landfill! The county has hired a hauler to collect debris from residential areas directly, free of charge. Avoid landfill disposal fees! Debris Collection Process: No need to be home for the pickup! The hauler will tag debris and pass through 2-3 times to ensure everything is collected. Separate Your Debris: Please move debris to the right of way and organize it into 3 piles: Vegetation (tree branches, etc.), White Goods (appliances), and Building Materials (construction debris). Keep it Clear: Place debris away from trees, fire hydrants, and other structures to ensure smooth removal. For Residents Only! Commercial properties aren’t eligible for this service – business owners will need to arrange separate debris removal. Important Reminder: We encourage you not to bring debris to the landfill. But if you must, please make sure your load is secured to prevent litter! Let’s work together to keep Burke County clean and safe! #WNCStrong #DebrisRemoval

We love talking trash 🗑 Our trash chute cleaning service is a favorite among mid and high-rise properties, and we see why! Not only does it help combat odor and pest issues, improve air quality, and reduce fire hazards and the likelihood of future costly repairs, but it makes a huge impact on current and potential renter impressions 🏡 If a resident touring your property sees how well you take care of your trash chutes, imagine the perception they'll have on the cleanliness of the rest of your property? A positive first impression like that is priceless 💸 Start maintaining your trash chutes with Fikes: https://lnkd.in/g8NKr2c6 📞 (800) 900-1083 📧 info@fikes.com 🌐 www.fikes.com 📍 34110 9th Ave S, Federal Way, WA 98003 📍 9592 SE Main St, Milwaukie, OR 97222 📍 800 E 73rd Ave, #13, Denver, CO 80229 #trashchutecleaning #facilitymaintenance #facilitymanagement #propertymanagement #multifamily #commercialpropertymanagement #firstimpressions #residentimpressions #seattle #portland #denver

Don't get burnt this bonfire night... Whilst it may be tempting to get rid of some excess rubbish by throwing it on a bonfire this could lead to a criminal conviction for fly tipping! It's also a criminal offence if you burn waste which is likely to cause harm to the environment or human health! Fly tipping carries a maximum penalty of an unlimited fine and up to five years imprisonment. Creating a bonfire with household or commercial waste risks a significant fine and can also cause harm to wildlife and human health if hazardous waste is burnt. Whilst I would recommend celebrating at an organised event, if you plan on building your own bonfire you should ensure that you only use dry, untreated and unpainted wood, along with small amounts of paper or cardboard. Please also make sure you check for little animals before lighting it 🦔 If you have concerns or witness bonfires being built with commercial or household waste, such as mattresses, sofas, kitchen worktops, tyres, black bags of waste etc (all things I've witnessed on bonfires over the years as an investigator) then please contact your Local Authority, the Environment Agency or anonymously to Crimestoppers. Have fun, stay safe and don't get burnt by doing the wrong thing and facing a criminal record! #bonfires #waste #wastemanagement #FlyTipping

When seeing litter in the street, it is very easy to say "someone ought to do something about that" or "the township should clean that up." While township public works departments take on many tasks, including street sweeping, they typically do not have the resources that would allow for frequent street sweepings. But, you can be part of the solution to the local litter problem by picking up litter in front of your home and in your neighborhood. It's easy to do and will bring you satisfaction knowing that you are helping your community and the environment. Plus, a litter-free neighborhood boosts the market value of homes and is a source of civic pride. Learn about litter prevention and cleanup at www.njclean.org/ and about sustainable living at dep.nj.gov/sustainability/.
