Just a reminder that actual measurement helps to identify which issues to tackle. Of course, the accuracy of measurements, sample biases, and semi-arbitrary classifications constantly skew statistical inferences. So yes, measure, but also be mindful and skeptical about the measurement itself. Review not only the numbers—after all, a child could tell that the blue column is higher than the yellow and red combined—but make the effort to understand how these columns were determined. Be inquisitive not only about topics but also about the methodologies of investigating these topics. That's one of the epistemological challenges of our time. #ClimateChange #DataScience #Epistemology #PublicHealth #Statistics #FreeThinking #CriticalThinking #RiskManagement #Engineering
