#DSM colleagues: who's coming to Peak Load Management Alliance's 50th Conference in Brooklyn? I'll be sharing the stage with my program partners Alexandra Abbruscato from CLEAResult and Kirsten Millar from Virtual Peaker to talk about how we rapidly expanded Hydro One's #demandresponse program to four types of #DERs in Y1 and the value of year-round demand flexibility in the #energytransition. What a great achievement Elevate have been selected onto the Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme (HNTAS) Pilot Assessors. The scheme will be run to identify the technical performance of heat networks participating in the Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme (HNTAS) pilot programme. This will allow DESNZ to develop minimum technical standards and assurance processes of assessment and certification to enable heat network suppliers to demonstrate compliance with technical requirements. Together, these requirements and assurance processes form the HNTAS, and will be set out in the Code documents. Working with Gemserv, a Talan Company | B Corp Certified as the Scheme Operator for the pilot period, Elevate will be working closely with the heat network operators to develop the scheme in line with lessons learned. Undertaking the role of AOs and Individual Assessors (IAs), Elevate will test run the technical requirements and assessment processes for participating heat networks and projects across Great Britain. Elevate will feed these outputs from the pilots to the Scheme Operator to review and further develop the HNTAS pilot programme in response to feedback received ensuring that the HNTAS requirements are deliverable in practice. The draft Code documents will include the: 1. Technical specification (what heat networks must comply with) 2. Assurance procedures (how compliance is demonstrated) 3. Assessor requirements (who can assess compliance) For a heat network to be assured as having met the technical requirements, heat network operators will need to have their networks assessed for different elements at different stages. Once a network passes these assessments which are largely based on CIBSE CP1 (2020), the network can apply for a certificate to demonstrate overall compliance. Assessments will be conducted by AOs and the IAs within them, while certification will be conducted by a Certification Body.
Elevate is thrilled to be participating in the Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme (HNTAS) Pilot Programme as an Assessor Organisation! We look forward to working together with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero to roll out practical regulatory standards for #heatnetworks and #districtheating schemes 🔥
