Cities like Zurich, Lausanne, and Geneva are leading this charge, attracting international attention. 🚀 Insights from the #GSER2024: Europe has taken the lead on early-stage Cleantech funding. When combined, the three most active Cleantech countries of Europe – the U.K., France, and Germany – have overtaken the U.S. and China. These “Euro Leaders” increased their Cleantech Series A funding amount by nearly 50% in 2023 compared to 2021, while China and the U.S. decreased by 40% and 20%, respectively, over this time. Globally, about 15% of Cleantech Series A funding went to startups located in the Euro Leaders, compared to just 4% in both the U.S. and China. Biggest universities all over the world have some strong entrepreneurial program to capture bright students’ imagination and energy early on. Most programs are very University specific, their own School’s startup incubator, and a few went further into franchising internationally (such as MIT accelerator). Romania has Innovation Labs Romania. Started in the Politechnics University, it’d expanded into tens of other Universities, connecting aspiring entrepreneurs across disciplines (arguably, in my view, a more sustainable approach for entreprenurship in a future world of AI). I’ve been supporting their mission from the first edition, and there’s no greater joy than to see the program has grown into embodying ideas of *innovation*, *early entrepreneurial education* and *impact for a stronger Romania tomorrow*. Sincere gratitude and kudos to Early Game Ventures for continued support 🙏🏻 And to all the other brands, VC’s and organizations whose mission and D.N.A. resonated - or will resonate for the 2025 edition - with those of Innovation Labs Romania.

71 Ukrainian startups have collectively secured approximately €251.84 million in funding over the past six months. The number of financed companies surged by nearly 200% in the second quarter compared to the first. Investors have shown keen interest in a diverse range of sectors: - Creatio attracted a substantial €186.00 million in capital, earning it the status of Ukraine’s sixth unicorn with a valuation of €1.12 billion. - Fintech Farm successfully closed a €29.76 million investment round in May. - Portal AI gathered €4.65 million in angel investment. - Esper Bionics secured another €4.65 million in a recent investment round. - Buntar Aerospace raised €2.05 million.
