I think: To show the world how valuable promotional products are, we all need to work together. That’s why I recently met with the CEO of BGA! How did Antonin’s visit in Mannheim go? 🔻 [This story shows again: networking is crucial!] After picking him up at 9:00 AM from the airport, we spent the morning exploring our company and discussing key economic and political topics until 1:00 PM. We covered everything from packaging solutions to international trade issues at the EU level! → Antonin wanted to learn about us and how we operate. → We explored how we & BGA could further collaborate. Some key takeaways: ✅ Meeting with the BGA offers a direct line to trade and policy discussions on an EU scale. ✅ Both sides committed to supporting each other on future initiatives, especially within the European Associations Cooperation (EAC). ✅ The in-person visit laid the groundwork for even deeper collaboration. Antonin and I first met during my time with the GWW, where I held a seat on the executive committee. Now, this visit shows how valuable networking can be. The next step? Continuing the conversation to grow our industry! P.S. (for everyone): ❗ Networking doesn’t end after the first meeting. 🐦⬛🇩🇰 Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of talking about establishing and running a business in Poland 🇵🇱 with the Danish Export Association, the Scandinavian-Polish Chamber of Commerce ( SPCC ), the Embassy of Denmark in Poland, and DESMI, who hosted us in their Aalborg headquarters. We had a chance to listen to some extraordinary keynotes, among many, by: ✔ Humphrey Lau, CEO of DESMI, who introduced us to the fascinating, century-long history of DESMI. The company has had a presence in Poland for many years, as elaborated by Dariusz Kozieł, who shared insights into DESMI's journey into the Polish market. ✔ Nina Hvid Enevoldsen presented a comprehensive analysis of the Polish political landscape and its impact on business operations in Poland. ✔ Maciej Szczepkowski from Santander Bank Polska and Lech Gniady from Peter Nielsen & Partners Law Office provided engaging data and insights into economic forecasts for investments in Poland, as well as the legal considerations for doing business here. ✔ I had the honour of aligning the practical aspects of running a company in Poland with a brilliant keynote by Leif Christiansen, who discussed the synergies between Poles and Danes and the unique value created when these cultures work together. ✔ Marcin K. Wiśniewski and Jakub Roszkiewicz from KPMG Poland shared insights into the M&A market in Poland, highlighting the opportunities created by generational changes in Polish companies. Danish entrepreneurs attended in impressive numbers—approximately 40 participants representing a wide range of industries. Hearing about the challenges Danish companies face when entering Poland, particularly in finding sales representatives, distributors, and local partners, was incredibly inspiring. We brainstormed potential solutions with our team at Hugin Consulting and are excited to soon launch a pilot for a new service line. This will help Danish companies enter the Polish market easily, bypassing much of the bureaucracy and cultural navigation. Stay tuned for more information! Building Bridges: Partnering in Business with Germany Workshop in Georgia   🇬🇪 We just wrapped up the in-person introductory workshop of the "Partnering in Business with Germany" program in Georgia! 🌍💼   Moderated by Maximilian Thomsen and Dr. Kristian Kampfer, the session focused on empowering participants to craft impactful emails for reaching out to German companies to arrange B2B meetings. ✉️🤝   Participants received personalized feedback and suggestions from the Madiba team to enhance their outreach efforts, ensuring a stronger start to successful business connections with German firms. 💪🇩🇪   In addition, the participants engaged in an inspiring Fishbowl discussion, sharing insights and exchanging ideas on how to approach German companies and build long-lasting business relationships.🗣️💡   The workshop laid the groundwork for the upcoming activities and discussions, especially focusing on the Georgian group's upcoming stay in Germany. 🛫🇩🇪 This stay will provide participants with a valuable opportunity to meet potential business partners face-to-face and build lasting professional relationships. For decades, Poland has been cooperating with Great Britain on many economic and business levels. This cooperation is constantly developing and it is no wonder, because companies in Poland are experienced business partners in many different industries. I remember taking part in business trips promoting Poland as a business location several times and it was a great opportunity to learn about the investment advantages of our country. There are never too many such meetings and you can't miss them. As Pro Progressio and FOCUS ON Business | media, we support business initiatives aimed at establishing cooperation and promoting Poland and Polish cities on the international stage. And now there is another opportunity! On November 12, the City of Katowice [Katowice City - live, work & invest], together with the Polish Embassy in London, Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) - ZBH London and the PBLINK - Polish Business Link organization, are organizing the 6th British - Polish Technology Forum in London. As part of the event, the organizers will focus on building cooperation in the area of technology and MedTech among companies from Poland and Great Britain. When I joined Axon in September 2018, my first mission was to crack the Nordic market - Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. We had zero references, I didn’t know the business climate, and, well... I didn’t know anyone there. Piece of cake, right? 😅 So, I rolled up my sleeves, started building a network, and did a deep dive into the cultures of these countries. Then came a stroke of luck - Nordic Night in Kyiv that fall. It was an event aimed at introducing us to the culture and quirks of the Nordics. (Spoiler: that was a fateful event) That’s where I met Fredrik Arthur. I was surprised when I found out that he was the Deputy Head of Mission of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kyiv. Small world, big titles! Fredrik later introduced me to Dmytro Pankratov, the Trade and Business Coordinator at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kyiv. Dmytro gave me some great advice: read Karin Ellis’s book "Working with Norwegians" and join the Norwegian – Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce (NUCC). I did both. And let me tell you, that book gave me a crash course in Norwegian work culture. It helped me land my first clients in Norway! Fast forward to autumn 2019 - NUCC organized a business trip for Norwegian entrepreneurs to Kyiv. And guess what? That trip led to us landing one of Axon's biggest clients. Moral of the story? In sales, networking is king. It’s not about instant results; it’s about building relationships that pay off in the long run - even when it doesn’t feel like it at first. P.S. That photo? The BVMW (Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft) represents the interests of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Germany. Through its extensive network, the BVMW offers international companies access to a vast array of potential business partners.
