In our latest blog post, we talk about the advantages of circular design. This time, the focus is not primarily on environmental benefits, but what you as a producer, and even as a consumer, can gain from circular design.
This becomes particularly appararent when looking at the following statistics that are a result of our unsustainable economy: The product lifespan, on average, decreased by 20% between 2000 and 2015. Failing products cost the average German consumer €110 per month.
On the positive side: Moving towards a more circular economy could create 700,000 new jobs in the EU by 2030, while increasing innovation and boosting economic growth.
There is huge potential to make a positive change towards a circular economy through design: a solid 80% of a product’s environmental impact is determined during the design phase.
Better for the environment, better for your finances – that’s what we call a win-win situaton, and we can achieve that together 💪
