Aluminium cans are not waste. An aluminium can has many potential after life uses and its status as one of the most used metal packaging materials in the world is due to its performance qualities and its highly recyclable nature. Aluminium's low melting temperature makes it easy and sustainable to turn metal packaging into more metal packaging in a closed loop. By extracting aluminium cans from residual MSW, we recycle cans that would otherwise end up in landfill or incineration. #sustainable #recycling #circulareconomy

Electrifying source for our marker force ⚡️ For the production of the Post-Consumer-Recycling (PCR) aluminum barrels of our markers, we require raw material of the highest purity to ensure the quality of our products. This is achieved by recycling decommissioned high-voltage power cables. These cables, once essential for delivering electricity, now provide a reliable and abundant source of premium aluminum for the recycled aluminum barrels of our markers, like our edding 3000. By utilizing this type of recycled aluminum, we can not only ensure the superior quality of our products but also contribute to a more sustainable future. This process reduces the need for new raw materials, minimizes waste, and guarantees a consistent supply of high-quality PCR aluminum. #sustainablematerials #recycling #recycledaluminum

Aluminium packaging recycling rates are soaring, so much so, they’re on track to hit record annual volumes. 𝐀𝐬 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐫 – 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞 700 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 8,400 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫. One of the reasons (in fact, the biggest reason behind the rise) is because aluminium packaging, i.e. drinks cans, is so quick and easy to recycle compared to other materials. At the same time, greater overall awareness about the importance of recycling aluminium packaging is also contributing to these rising recycling levels. 🔹For further insight, check out this Circular article: https://lnkd.in/eGYfUS9e #aluminiumrecycling #UBCrecycling

It’s no secret that our processes generate aluminium scrap — but here’s the exciting part: aluminium is infinitely recyclable! 🌱♻️ 🔥 One of the remarkable benefits of using aluminium is that it can be remelted and cast into new billets, which we then can use in new production. This also has a big environmental benefit as recycling aluminium only requires 5% of the original energy used to produce the primary metal. And luckily for us, we live right next door to a recycling company that helps us create a more sustainable loop that benefits both the environment and our business! 🌎 Our great neighbor, Sydjysk Handel & Recycling, handles our scrap from all our four plants, while Tønder Handel & Transport handles the transportation between plants and remelting facilities. 🚚 #recycling #aluminium #scrap #environment #sustainability

At Peaks-eco, our patented pyrolysis process converts waste tires into high-quality secondary raw materials in an eco-friendly manner. Here's how it works: 1. **Separation**: Components of used car and truck tires are mechanically separated. Steel wires are sent to steel mills, and textile fibers are transformed into insulation materials. 2. **Shredding**: The rubber is shredded into granules of varying sizes, suitable for creating sustainable, durable products or further recycling. 3. **Pyrolysis**: Rubber granules are decomposed without oxygen into valuable materials: rCB (recycled carbon black) for the rubber and plastics industry, crude oil, and natural gas for the chemical industry. 4. **Energy Self-Sufficiency**: The gases produced are converted into electricity, making the entire recycling plant self-sufficient. https://buff.ly/34dDufy https://buff.ly/4fuLLhK #SustainableRecycling #GreenManufacturing #PyrolysisTechnology #RubberRecycling #CircularEconomy #EnvironmentalInnovation #PeaksEco #EcoFriendly

Want to know how to best recycle your foil wrappings this Easter? ♻️ Before placing any foil in your recycling bin, crumple it into a ball so it doesn't get torn or stuck in the recycling machinery. Avoid taking each individual piece and balling them up separately. Instead, save up your aluminium foil and make it into a ball. This will help keep your aluminium infinitely recyclable. #AluminiumCan Learn more at https://lnkd.in/eJsm2fMj

Cookie dough meets aluminum! 🍪 In this video, Hilde Kallevig, a Hydro colleague, uses a playful analogy to highlight the difference between pre- and post-consumer scrap and how it ties into two key carbon footprint calculation methods: Cut-Off Method: This approach follows the product. It treats pre-consumer scrap as waste with a 0 burden, assigning all emissions to the original product while ignoring the benefits of recycling. Co-Product Allocation Method: This method follows the material. It shares the carbon footprint between the product and the scrap, reflecting the value and impact of both in the aluminum recycling process. Understanding these methods is crucial for driving smarter recycling decisions and advancing a greener, more sustainable aluminum industry. Watch the video to learn more about how these concepts are shaping the future of sustainability! #aluminium #recycling #sustainability
