Chicago's seemingly endless surge of burglaries targeting bars and restaurants saw another rash of activity this past weekend. Top small business tips: 1) Leave register doors open overnight 2)Test your burglar alarms and cameras 3) Call your City Council member and tell them to co-sponsor Alderman Gil Villegas's Small Business Protection Rebate program to help more locally owned spots afford security upgrades. Currently only Alderman Villegas and Alderpeople Ramirez-Rosa and LaSpata have signed on as sponsors. At a minimum a hearing on the proposal might help bring more CPD attention to this painful two year long spike in burglaries targeting locally owned bars and restaurants across Chicago. https://lnkd.in/gqjfF9eW

Happy Cat Herders Day to all the busy legal professionals out there! (Yes, this is actually a day and, yes, apparently there really is a day for everything). We're told that Cat Herders Day is observed annually on December 15, and that 'this day is for those [...] whose lives or jobs are like herding cats. This day celebrates those who can manage others (and themselves) no matter what chaos is thrown their way.' Hope the herding goes well all! (especially moving into the holidays)! 🐾 🐾 🐾 #legalhumour #lawyerhumor #legalmarketing #socialmediaforlawfirms #womenlawyers #marketingforlawfirms #socialmediaforlawyers

Did you know? 🎃 The tradition of carving pumpkins for Halloween, known as "jack-o'-lanterns," started with carving turnips in Ireland! It wasn’t until the Irish immigrants brought the tradition to America that pumpkins became the spooky season staple we know today. #GroupLivingGoals #DurableDesign #addictionsrecovery #behavioralhealthcare #mindfuldesignsolutions #normativeenvironments #furnitureconcepts #projectplanning #spookyseason

Celebrating freedom does not come cheap It wouldn’t be July 4th without barbecues and fireworks and despite the sky rocketing price increases people will spend to honor and celebrate. We all have a neighbor who throws a backyard fireworks display, permits? We don’t need no stinkin’ permits! Well as you watch and hope he knows what he is doing know that “During the first four months of 2024, the bulk price jumped 42% — more than twice the overall increase in the U.S. inflation rate. Add in rising labor costs at fireworks stands, and these three explanations make it clear why fireworks use is down since the pandemic's peak.” - US Fireworks. Food “Not even Fourth of July barbecues are immune to inflation. Americans feeding a group of 10 this holiday weekend will spend an average of $71.22, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation. It's a record high: 5% more than last year.” - 6ABC Philadelphia” We back of the enveloped the 5-year percentage changes for each food item from 2019 to 2024 on the following core BBQ items: Beef: Up approximately 37.28%. Pork: UP approximately 34.69%. Chicken Breast: US approximately 32.41% Potato Chips: Up approximately 50.66% — yes, potato chips are not only a staple, they are a necessity!!! Happy 4th of July. Enjoy every single tasty bite and every exploding firework and most of all “stay safe.” May the 4th be with you. God Bless America and God Bless you.
