It’s great to see positive changes happening, especially with the NDIS working towards more flexible, tailored plans that meet the unique needs of participants. 🌱 This means more people are getting the specific support they need to live independently and achieve their personal goals. 💪 At the heart of these changes are support workers and home carers who work closely with participants, ensuring their care is tailored to their individual circumstances. 🤲 Whether it’s helping with daily activities, building confidence, or achieving greater independence, it’s all about personalised support that really makes a difference. 🙌 And we’re hiring home carers and support workers who have a deep commitment to personalised care, because understanding and supporting the unique needs of our participants is in our DNA. 🧬 If you’re passionate about helping people thrive, check out our careers page at PRCSA.com.au/careers, for more info on how you can join us... or call us on 1300 062 437. 🚀 Let’s keep celebrating these positive changes and continue to make a real impact on people’s lives! 🎀 #NDIS #SupportWork #PositiveChange #PersonalisedCare #WeAreHiring #PRCSA #PinkRibbonCommunityServicesAustralia #NDIS #CommunityServices #Queensland #SunshineCoast

Hi everyone! Mark Maxfield here, CEO of The Cottages Assisted Living & Memory Care. Those who work for me know that culture is one of the most important things to me for my company. I hired a company President a little over a year ago, which has allowed me to work on the growth and culture of my company. Culture is often what you see, hear, and feel when you walk into your place of business. For me it would be one of our assisted living communities. Recently we had all of our community summer BBQs. I was able to go to ten of them and they were fantastic. I’ve been very impressed with how many people from our other communities showed up to help their sister communities. They assisted with preparing the meals, setting up decorations, and cleaning up. It involved a lot of work. So, my message for you leaders this month is, are you fostering an environment in your culture where people feel comfortable helping other people do their jobs? That means you have to be ok with cross training and cross supporting, so that people don’t feel siloed and like it’s a competition. It shouldn’t feel like a competition. Instead, it should feel like, this is our team. This is our company. How can we help each other to be successful? That’s one thing that I’ve noticed that is really improving in our company. I’m so proud of that and great job everyone! As a leader that is something you can look forward to as well. Making sure that everyone feels safe so that they feel like they can help everyone. In so doing, your entire company will be successful. See you next time. #cottagespride #assistedliving #longtermcare #seniorliving #seniorcare #seniors #healthcare #improvelives #deliverqualitycare #caregiveroftheyear

Oakland County Veterans Resource Fair had assistance from Pioneering Technology Corp. via MI Prevention and their representative Stan Barnes were just one of the volunteers today who were onsite to serve over 430 Veterans and their families. Will Boake, Kevin Callahan, Reid Johnston and John Bergsma were there in spirit. The SmartBurner and Smart-Micro technology and information was a huge hit! CRR, Community Risk Reduction, is in full bloom. Not a single fire has started on a cooktop using SmartBurner’s technology. Cooking is the leading cause of all household fires, the leading cause of fire-related injury, and the second leading cause of fire-related death. SmartBurner helps save people and property by helping to prevent these fires from starting in the first place. SmartBurner is unlike other conventional fire prevention products in that it does not wait for a fire to start before taking action. Instead, SmartBurner prevents cooking fires from starting without the user even knowing they were at risk of a fire in the first place. Here are a few of the other resources that were present at the Veterans Resource Fair: *Oakland County Veterans’ Services—Providing information and claims assistance regarding Veteran benefits and giving away Meijer vouchers—to be eligible you must be a Veteran and Oakland County resident, and you must present a copy of your DD214 *Oakland County Michigan Works!—Providing Veterans and their families with career planning, training programs, job search resources and the opportunity to meet with an employment specialist *Oakland County Neighborhood & Housing Development—Helping residents with housing counseling *Oakland County Parks —Giving out free annual vehicle permits. Learn more here: tinyurl.com/p7awv8pk *Detroit VA Healthcare System—Offering registration help and exams for non enrolled Veterans *Oakland Community Health Network—Addressing any behavioral health issues and concerns, including behavioral health needs for children *VA Suicide Prevention—Providing free gun locks *Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic—Scheduling free dental appointments *Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency—Printing DD214’s on site *Ride SMART—Providing information on their Veteran transportation program. MI Prevention is hoping to secure additional funding opportunities to offer SmartBurrner Technology and Resources to more of our Veterans, seniors and others who fit certain criteria. Urgent Help Needed⭐ Can you spare $6 to provide lunch for a neighbour? ⭐ It's not a lot, but for someone it really is. 💚 Who is Mission Possible? Mission Possible transforms lives through meaningful work. They walk alongside people facing barriers to employment by providing supportive, transitional work experience and community for those who are ready to enter the workforce. 💚 Why lunches? Mission Possible started providing lunches in 2020 to associates on shift to address some of the food security challenges they were facing. The lunches provided some stability for their associates while other food services had to shut down for safety purposes. As things have opened back up, funding has diminished and is now no longer offered. However, over the last four years, Mission Possible has received a lot of positive feedback from associates who rely on these lunches to get through the day. In addition, the Employment Readiness Program and the associate team has only continued to expand as Mission Possible adapts to meet the demand in the community for transitional employment. Mission Possible need your support to keep providing these lunches, and every dollar counts! #PayItForward #GivingBack #FoodSecurity #FoodInsecurity #MissionPossible #Poverty #PovertyReduction #Inclusion #Equity Matthew Smedley, Tara Chang-Swanson, Jamie Millar-Dixon Rianna Ganief Saffina Jinnah Tanya Morrison (she/her/hers) William Azaroff Marco Pasqua Elisabeth Cooke Dignii Technologies Inc Mary Gerges B.A., M.P.P. Are you really prepared to do the dirty work yourself? If not, skip this post. you're not going to like what I have to say... When me and my team are working we're making sure we're committed to going the extra mile for our service users, and that means being there for them, especially when things don't go as planned. Yes, we have partnerships with other agencies as part of our contingency plan, but I still love getting stuck in myself. There's something rewarding about being hands-on, whether it's meeting with families, ensuring the quality of care, or even stepping in to support our team directly. As a registered manager, it something that HAS to be done. I've met agency owners who have never changed a pad or spoken to their service users face-to-face, and that’s what sets us apart. We’re involved from start to finish because we truly care about the well-being of those we serve. myself and my the ladies in the office know every single service user, their likes and dislikes, their nicknames and more ! We believe in building those strong relationships because it improves their overall experience and most importantly they feel comfortable with us. If you're not willing to get involved in the dirty work, and build those strong relationships with all your services users. Then why bother? Owning a care agency isn't just about making sure the carers attend the calls when they need to or making sure you're just skimming the mark to avoid a safeguarding. It's a multi-faceted experience and to be involved in this industry you and your team have to have all hands on deck ✋🏽! #registeredmanager #passionate #letsdiscuss #whatdoyouthink #careagency #London #kent #essex #redbridge #barking #hackney #havering #ealing #lewisham #hertfordshire #southwark #allin #allhandsondeck #serviceusers #harshreality #howtostartahealthcareagency #privatehealthcare #publichealthcare #brokerageteam #adultcommissioning #strategicommissioning

As a member of the Champions of Change Coalition Property Group, our CEO James Patterson recently volunteered alongside Daniel Kernaghan from JLL to lead a group focused on shared carers’ responsibilities. Over the last few months, we've held focus groups with individuals with diverse, caring responsibilities across our industry to better understand the challenges of being a carer. We realised there can’t be a one-size-fits-all approach to these challenges given the diverse, caring responsibilities we see. And educating our people on what caring looks like is a priority. As a start, we’ve asked all firms to put together a statement demonstrating their commitment to improving the caring landscape in our industry. Here's ours: At Knight Frank Australia, we’re committed to changing the landscape of caring to enable our people to balance their professional and personal responsibilities. Our focus areas are: 1. Education: We aim to shift the culture and attitudes towards caring at Knight Frank and the broader property industry. We will define what caring means to us, increase our people’s awareness, and encourage open and meaningful conversations. 2. Focus on outcomes: We will prioritise outcomes over presenteeism, valuing our people based on their contributions and results, rather than the time spent at their desks. 3. Breaking down barriers: We will work to break down the current barriers that prevent our people from fulfilling their caring responsibilities while pursuing a thriving career. #knightfrankaustralia #togetherforbetter #togetherforourpeople Kristin Hay Samantha Taylor Polly Fennell Martina Foehr

I can't believe it's already a month since I started my new role at the Ammerdown Retreat Centre in Somerset! For those of you who don't know, I joined as Director in February and I am LOVING it! Set in the heart of the Somerset countryside, this beautiful sanctuary of peace is just 12 miles south of Bath and 16 miles from Bristol. The website is www.ammerdown.org At its heart, Ammerdown is about Hospitality, Peace and Reconciliation. It believes in a shared world; where diversity and different identities are cherished; where all can live free from the fear of violence and abuse, with dignity and respect; and where differences and conflicts are transformed peacefully. As well as delivering an expanding range of courses, from shorter events and reflection days to longer residential retreats, we generate important income by offering five modern meeting/conference rooms with AV equipment and hearing loops - these can cater for a range of meeting sizes from just a few people in a boardroom style up to 80 people in a conference setting. We also offer private stays on a B&B basis or with extra meals (and you will LOVE the Ammerdown catering!). We even have a large self-catering cottage available for holiday hire for up to 8 people. As we see the news each day, it seems clear that the pathways to peace and reconciliation are long and challenging, but also critically important. Please take a look and see where I'm working, but also whether any of the resources or conference facilities might be of interest to you, or to others you know. And please do share this information far and wide! Do let me know if you have any questions, or if you think there's anything we could be adding to our programme. Hopefully I'll see you soon! #ammerdown #ammerdowncentre #theammerdowncentre #peace #reconciliation #somerset #interfaith #socialjustice #sanctuary #careforcreation #conferencerooms #retreats

Should First Aiders be Volunteers? Ideally, your chosen workplace first aider volunteered themselves for the role because they know that it fits with their own personality and skillset but if that isn’t possible, it’s important to consider the natural skillset and confidence of the person you appoint to ensure they are capable of carrying out the role...
