I want to congratulate Ava Fetzner, Rachel Sanyu, Jacob Michalski, and Samantha Czora for being honored as well. Startups are hard. I think lists like these are important to recognize and inspire those who are betting on themselves. I used to read about the founders on this list and feel greatly motivated by their achievements. It is surreal to now be included on the list and electrify others. My advice to other entrepreneurs is do what you love. There will always be hard days and setbacks. The biggest hiring mistake I see first-time founders make at the offer stage is making an offer when 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 instead of when 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 is ready. Why is this so bad? As soon as you start talking comp, it changes the dynamic of the conversation…  - The convo becomes all about negotiation  - Candidates start to feel like you’re “selling” them  - Many candidates start to hold their cards closer to their chest and it becomes more challenging have a heart to heart about other dimensions outside of comp That’s why I always like to ask one simple Q before moving to offer:  → “We're all super excited. Assuming we can get to a fair place on comp, 1-10, how likely are you to join?” When I hear 6 or 7, I know I have a lot of work to do. Rather than jump into the offer details, I usually take a step back and ask questions, understand motivations, and see what I can discover.  → “What would it take to get you to an eight? A nine? A ten?” It’s important to uncover and get aligned on these things first, because as soon as you start talking comp, it becomes a lot harder to have an open convo about these other dimensions. (which are equally as important, if not more!) received a message from a client this week who had a few questions about what to do next in terms of finding startups to approach. we walked through a bit of a step by step on how to find companies best suited to his needs and how to go about networking. Later that day I receive a note from him saying "You're right! Networking is important. Research, network, application, and interview all in one day. Thank you" Networking is such an important part of our everyday and should be continuous whether you are looking or not. Networking should not be reactive to someone starting a job search for whatever the reason. Networking should be continuous and part of your weekly daily activities. Want to talk more about it? Hey founders, remember that time when someone gave you millions of dollars for your start up despite never being a founder or ever running a company? Please think about that every time look down on a candidate that doesn’t have the perfect experience. Think about this when you mock up what a dream candidate looks like. Remember someone took a chance on you. They saw your potential. Instead of looking at all the reasons you wouldn’t be successful, they found reasons why you would win. This is how you should be evaluating candidates. You'll be a lot better if you do.

One of my biggest challenges? Getting people to actually try my product. 🚧 Here's a quick rundown of my journey so far: I'm facing issues with engagement; even part-time contractors express interest but then go MIA when it's time to test things out. While the product offers long-term value, I realized that without immediate incentives, people treat it like a chore. Who wants to spend their time entering detailed work histories for free? 🤔 I tried introducing features like generating custom resumes and letting hiring teams filter applicants, but I’ve struggled with advertising these offerings effe...

A client received an offer on Saturday. Yes Saturday! In 8+ weeks he went from "nothing " to late stage interviews with 7 different #technology companies. ( one offer) 5 super hot #VC backed #startups and 2 of the most respected large companies in the US. Here is how we drove these results- ✅ He took weeks off after losing his job to recharge. ✅ We created a simple, easy to read resume and updated his profile. ✅ We built a "targeted" list of companies that would see HIS #experience as valuable. ✅ Created messaging that would generate response. (25+%) ✅ Leveraged his #network when possible. ✅ Messaged #hiring leaders directly. Often 3+ messages before he saw a response. ✅ He prepared and practiced for every call. ( 30+ and counting) ✅ He tracked every activity and tweaked approach based on results. 👍Takeaway is similar to what I have said for years. Every day, I write a lot of cold emails and LinkedIn messages to acquire new clients for Hiretal. Some of them say yes Some of them say no. There's this founder who gave me a detailed explanation of his company situation  on why it isn't the right time to reach out to him. I was surprised he took a lot of time to draft the reply and send it over. I asked him what made him write the response, and he said this: "We are a start up too - going through the same challenges of additional revenue - i have to treat you the same way, i would like to be treated by prospects." It reminded me of a very important lesson by my teacher, GMCKS: 'Treat others as you want to be treated I receive a lot of NO's everyday, but this NO is truly special as it made me feel 10x better As a startup founder, did any of your prospect say NO and you felt special?
