I am elated to share my latest corresponding-authored article, titled "Circular product design strategies in the apparel industry: toward the circular economy." This work stems from the project work of one of my talented students, Sanjida Parvin Rahee, from the B.Sc. in Leather Products Engineering program at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Congratulations to Sanjida on this accomplishment! It brings me immense satisfaction to guide students in shaping their research for publication. In this article, we delve into the circular product design strategies essential for the apparel industry. We classified these strategies, provided a real-life example, and discussed their implications for advancing the industry's transition toward the circular economy. Exploring the Drivers of Intention to Repurchase and Advocacy Intention in Eco-Fashion: A Determinant Analysis Assalammualaikum w.b.t and greetings to you. I am Roland Anak Kamarau, a Master's Degree student from Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus. I would like to invite you to participate in a survey entitled "Exploring the Drivers of Intention to Repurchase and Advocacy Intention in Eco-Fashion: A Determinant Analysis". In this research, eco-fashion, which means eco-fashion products can have a distinctive style in terms of environmentally friendly appearance. For example, sustainable materials such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, or fabrics made from renewable resources such as bamboo or hemp are used in the eco-fashion field. Some examples of brands that produce eco-fashion products are Levi's, Uniqlo, H&M, and many other brands. If you have experience purchasing this type of clothing, you are welcome to answer the questionnaire. The purpose of this study is to assess the intention to repurchase and advocacy intention towards eco-fashion. Here, international universities, institutes, and research facilities showcased both their research expertise and their diverse range of forward-looking study and training opportunities. The focus was on textiles and technologies for the production, processing, and handling of textiles. The textile industry is in the midst of a transformation – from digitalisation and automation to sustainable concepts for the future. This presents an ideal opportunity for young professionals and aspiring specialists to connect with innovative companies across the entire textile value chain. Where ESG Starts - Education --- China is in the forefront of #sustainability because it places faith in formal learning and lifelong planning after qualifying. This was vouched here in #malaysia when I spoke on #industrialdesign, alongside a well-known industrial designer Eekang Ooi, CIDe. The ESG Forum was coordinated by our Malaysian Association of Public Advocacy for Nature (MAPAN) founding member Prof Ts Dr @Khairul Aidil Azlin Abd Rahman of Universiti Putra Malaysia. Demonstrating #communityengagement, this livestream event (with minute details taken care of) was entirely the efforts of #id undergraduates with SEED mentality, much sought after in #esg. Amazing to see down-to-earth students exhibits displaying the 3 pillars of E, S and G using inexpensive corrugated cardboards. Caption wordings were laser cut from machine at the factory they intern with. Double flips overlay round brown board narratives were tastefully shinned with concealed lights in between. ID is the root to every consumer, commercial or industrial product or equipment. Embedding #decarbonization requirements become a quick win for #climateaction to combat #globalwarming. The "hidden design" in ID considerations work towards lesser use of #naturalresources, lower social complications in #wasteminimization and better governance on #circulareconomy. As a practice, ESG speaks more of compliance with 'verification and validation' on its public disclosure. On this day, 12th September 2017, I landed in Australia to start my PhD in #textile #recycling at the University of Wollongong. Back then, many questioned my choice—why a PhD in textile recycling? Why not something more "fancy"? But deep down, I knew I wanted to make a real impact by helping the planet and its people. Today, as I engage in conversations about recycling various streams of textile waste and turning them into useful products, I feel a deep sense of pride and satisfaction. I’m grateful I made the right choice. Every day, I work on recycling textile fibers to develop new and innovative products. I get to work with a diverse range of fibers—wool, cotton, shoddy fibers, recycled polyester, and even high-performance fibers like carbon fiber. These materials find new life in applications across acoustics, thermal insulation, aerospace, automotive industries, and more. It's a vast field, and I love every moment of it.
