What does science-based beauty mean and what should the requirements be to define a skincare product as “science-based”? It matters because you spend a lot of money on it so it’s important to know if the technology you are paying for is credible and valid.

As a long term partner and prime sponsor of the Euronext Tech Leaders campus, BNP Paribas hosted yesterday a panel discussion on how tech is transforming the consumer industry, with a particular focus on Beauty Tech, moderated by Jeanne Falquero. Béatrice Dautzenberg, Global Director of Beauty Tech Services at L’Oréal presented notably the daily impact of AI for both the group’s collaborators and the consumers. It was fascinating to discover how Beauty Genius, L’Oréal Paris’ personal beauty assistant, is completely reinventing the customer relationship. All of the panelists agreed that virtual worlds extend and improve the real world and Walid Darghouth Industry Director CPG & Retail at Dassault Sytèmes, demonstrated to us how the virtual twin helps reduce time, cost and risk in a world where time-to-value is key. Technology and Science remain highly connected and are at the core of beauty innovations. Elisa Chiquet, COO at Hellobiome explained us how they manage to deliver valuable insights from clusters of skin profiles based on thousands of microbiome species for research and commercial use.
