Over a transformative “9+1” days of lectures, practice, and showcasing, more than 70 students from Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic College turned their imagination into reality, producing 23 unique AIGC short films inspired by the essence of Chongqing in just 72 hours! From “The Secret of the Time Gate at Chaotianmen” to “The Dream of Baiheliang”, “Hotpot Tales at Hongyadong”, “Underworld Adventures at Fengdu Ghost City”, and “Transformed Taxis of the Foggy Hero in the 8D City”, to the unforgettable “Watchtower of Yin Tiaoling in Wuxi”, these creations showcase how AIGC empowers students to redefine storytelling and culture in unprecedented ways. This event also marked the unveiling of the Chongqing AIGC Future Audiovisual Joint Creation Center, the first AIGC collaboration hub officially operational after the directive from the Party Secretary of Chongqing to leverage the Western International Communication Center to "strengthen AI’s role in content production." Can I share something personal? At a recent education summit to which I was invited as a panelist, as an early-stage founder surrounded by established educators and prestigious institutions, I found myself feeling unexpectedly small. When the Vice-Chancellor and President of one of Malaysia's top private universities opened his conversation asking about our student population size, it starkly reminded me of our modest scale amidst these educational giants. This encounter sparked a moment of imposter syndrome within me. Yet, as Yuying Deng, recently puts it, the journey of a founder often starts with perceptions that might feel like setbacks. She states, "The most successful founders have a different way of seeing challenges. To them, a challenge is not an end. It is a beginning. A start." It's a timely reminder to set my egos aside, seek out feedback, and relentlessly improve. It's the only way we can continuously fuels our mission at Forward College. I often remark, somewhat humorously, that entering the education sector, particularly as a challenger, typically requires deep connections and substantial resources - attributes usually associated with large conglomerates. But here I am, just a person alongside a dedicated team of change-makers and industry captains, driven by the desire to make a meaningful difference. This journey is not just about teaching; it’s about transforming education, driven by the resilience and adaptability that Deng describes. Our path is daunting, yet vital. #EducationInnovation #FutureOfEducation #EdTech #TechEd #ForwardCollege #StartupJourney [Picture credit: DALL-E]
