What does it mean to be kingly? To me, to be kingly means to bear the weight of complete and final responsibility for the wellbeing of a domain in such a way that requires one to rise against any of countless forms of threats while leading by example on the road to an envisioned, strategic conclusion. I use the term "bear the weight," because that's exactly what I believe it should feel like: A genuinely benevolent king should lift the heaviest weight from his people as the first and most self-sacrificing servant of the sovereign...not lay it upon them. This is simultaneously what it means to be a strong king, as well, because a weak king could not "bear the weight" with either his body or his thoughts. My "people" of my "domain" in this case, would be my family. One's own home should generally be where he becomes king first; though, I use the word "domain" as an open-ended term, because there are many figurative contexts in which a man can declare his kingdom. True regality then is not so much a title but an achieved state of mind that we metaphysically actualize into, not as a target in and of itself, but as an indirect manifestation: a consequence of choosing how to respond to life's various sufferings with dignity, grace, duty, and sacrifice. Hence the old adage that says kings are not born, but made.

Ecclesiastes 3 King James Version 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. THERE IS SEASON FOR EVERYTHING.

Why this is not a story: The King Died. Sure, the physical state of the King changed, but... An internal belief, either the King's or otherwise, did not change. Great stories use external forces to challenge a character's internal belief... And then the character chooses to hold that belief or change it. The HEART of a story is the conflict between the old belief and the new belief. This is that "in your throat/gut" feeling you get during great stories. You're wired to respond to belief change. This is the power of story.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." - King Solomon Who trusts you? Who do you trust? Success in life is built on the speed of trust. So, 1. Become trustworthy. 2. Trust God. 3. Trust yourself. 4. Trust your TEAM. 5. Trust the process.

Bible > Ecclesiastes > Chapter 9 > Verse 11 New International Version I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all. New Living Translation I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time. New King James Version I returned and saw under the sun that— The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.
