By the end of October 2024, the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) reported significant global 5G activity: 619 operators in 184 countries were investing in 5G, including trials, licensing, planning, deployment, and launches (excluding ~200 CBRS licensees in the US). 343 operators in 126 countries had launched or soft-launched at least one 3GPP-compliant 5G service. 169 operators in 74 countries had launched 3GPP-compliant 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) services, accounting for 49% of those offering 5G services. 151 operators were investing in 5G standalone (5G SA), with 64 operators having launched or soft-launched 5G SA public networks. The latest data from GSA shows that 617 operators in 182 countries and territories have been investing in #5G networks in the form of tests, pilots, licence acquisitions, planned and actual deployments. Of those, 343 operators in 125 countries and territories have launched commercial 3GPP-compatible 5G services (mobile or #fixedwirelessaccess). 155 operators are identified as investing in #5Gstandalone for public networks (including those evaluating, testing, piloting, planning or deploying as well as those that have launched #5GSA networks). GSA has catalogued 71 operators as having deployed or launched 5G standalone in public networks. There are now 1,489 customers deploying #privatemobilenetworks based on #LTE or #5G. 📢 GSA's Latest 5G Standalone (5G SA) Network Deployment Report On April 29, 2024, GSA released its latest survey on 5G Standalone (5G SA) network deployments. The report highlights significant growth, identifying 124 operators in 58 countries investing in public 5G SA networks through trials, planning, or actual deployments. This marks an increase of 3 countries and 3 operators since January. Key Highlights: - 49 operators in 29 countries have launched or deployed public 5G SA networks. - 22 operators are piloting or trialing 5G SA on public networks. - 49 operators are planning, assessing, or testing 5G SA technology. It is important to remember life continues outside #MWC24 (!). While 101,000 of us were away in Barcelona, 5G continued to ramp. Here's the latest data on the state of the #5G market globally from the GSA (Global mobile Suppliers Association). Now, 585 operators are investing in 5G. Of those, 308 operators in 118 countries have launched. 5G FWA: 153 operators in 71 countries have launched 5G fixed wireless access. 5G Standalone: 49 operators, with 124 operators investing in 5G SA. According to GSA's latest #5G market snapshot, there are now 153 operators in 71 countries and territories that have launched or soft-launched 3GPP-compliant 5G #fixedwirelessaccess services.
