Women scholars often bring unique perspectives, approaches, and contributions to their respective fields, which can influence and shape intellectual discourse and progress. Nian’s recent book on this topic delves into various aspects such as the challenges faced by women scholars in Hong Kong, the strategies they employ to excel in their academic pursuits, the impact of their research and publications on their fields, and the broader implications of their intellectual leadership within the academic community and society at large. I am thrilled to announce the launch of the selection process for the second cohort of the “Progresiya” project by biasless world. This multi-format educational program aims to support and develop Ukrainian women change-makers from business, civil society, academia, arts, culture, sports, and government sectors. Over six months, participants will engage in leadership training, change orchestration, scaling, and 10+ new competencies through two formats: collective workshops and individual sessions. Each participant will receive ten one-on-one sessions, including TriMetrix® EQ personal audits, career consultations, coaching, mentoring, and psychological support. A team of 30 educators and leaders, 12 consultants, and 65 mentors from Ukraine, the UK, and the USA will support 100 Ukrainian women motivated to grow and invest their talents and efforts in strengthening their institutions, communities, and country. The impact of the first cohort was profound, with 100% of participants finding the project valuable and practical. Almost all indicated they would have missed something significant without “Progresiya” and unanimously recommended organizing “Progresiya II.” Understanding Ukraine’s staffing realities and the government’s focus on closing the gender gap, continuing this support for current and future leaders is essential and aligns with the demand. Notable mentors include Lauren C. Anderson, L.H.D., Tracy L. The success rate of female entrepreneurs is much lower compared to men. Yet, this undeniable fact doesn't deter these female leaders. Despite facing various challenges, just like their male counterparts, they are driven by a strong determination to break barriers and showcase their hard work, diligence, perseverance, and willpower to the world. This is the theme I picked up during the Her Courage Leaders Summit, organized by Class Living. ==== Since venturing into entrepreneurship last year, every step has been a mix of excitement and uncertainty for me. There were times that I doubted myself. "Is this going to work?" ==== Receiving the HER COURAGE award, alongside 9 other remarkable female entrepreneurs from Singapore and overseas, has given me the extra boost of confidence. The award symbolizes the extraordinary courage, resilience, and impact that define our journey. It is extra meaningful to receive the award from Lilian Ong and Ms. Penny Low, who champion the good cause of seeing women rise up, stepping out of their comfort zones, and shining as beacons of hope and strength in adversity. For me, this is just the beginning. For you, if you feel like throwing in the towel, perhaps reconnecting with your WHY - your purpose and passion - can provide the motivation and clarity you need to keep going. 🔥🔥🔥

Interested in hearing more from #AIEA2024 conference? Here's a summary of the second day's activities: First and foremost, let me express that this day proved to be the most intense yet incredibly rewarding experience, spanning from dawn till dusk, brimming with valuable learning opportunities and fruitful networking engagements. Among the concurrent sessions happening throughout the day, I actively participated in the following: - "Current State of the International Enrollment Field" and "The Role of Risk Mitigation in Today’s Global Collaboration Landscape." Both sessions were led byexperienced panelists and representatives from renowned organizations such as The Association of International Enrollment Management, Middle Tennessee State University, and IDP Connect. Their insights were truly invaluable, and I extend my gratitude for their contributions. Furthermore, I had the privilege of joining a roundtable discussion on "Leadership Development for Women in International Education," facilitated by Clare Overmann from the Institute of International Education. Clare's extensive expertise in the field and her advocacy for increased female representation in leadership roles within the industry left a profound impact. Her emphasis on professionalization, mentorship, and other strategies to narrow the gender gap in leadership opportunities resonated deeply with the audience. This roundtable offered a plenty of insightful takeaways, providing a glimpse (video attached) into the challenges and opportunities for women in International Education Leadership. In conclusion, it was a truly remarkable day filled with inspiration. I was particularly moved by Ambassador Kamissa Camara's story, which exemplified vulnerability yet instilled a sense of confidence in the transformative power of education to create a better world. #inspiration #internationaleducation #women #leadership

Women who make history - this month we're celebrating herstory and women who make history. How are you investing in yourself, time, money or energy, this month to accelerate progress? Last week I traveled to the U.S. Commercial Service Trade Mission for Women to Panama. In addition to meeting other incredible entrepreneurs, representatives from nearly 20 Latin American countries, and a princess, I met the US Ambassador to Panama, the honorable Mari Carmen Aponte. She taught me so much about leadership in her opening keynote as well as at her home at the US Embassy. Watch this week's YouTube episode (link in the comments) to learn how investing in myself lead to accelerating my leadership. What are you doing this month to invest in yourself or other women to accelerate progress? #WomensHistoryMonth #InvestInWomen #WomenEmpowerment #WomenLeaders #BreakTheBias #SheLeads #LeadershipDevelopment #ExecutiveDevelopment #Entrepreneurship #BusinessGrowth #Community #GrowthMindset #SelfInvestment #PersonalGrowth #EmpoweredWomenEmpowerWomen #WomenSupportingWomen #EmbraceYourself #AuthenticLeadership #UnlockYourPotential #MindsetMatters If we haven’t met yet, I’m Julie, an ambitious woman like you who wants to change the world for good with more impact, influence and income. I’ve built programs, led teams, dealt with uninspiring leaders, and learned from the very best. I built my business to the top 1% in income in less than 3 years, in a cut throat industry, all while empowering other women. WInning leadership awards, rocking the TEDx stage are proud accomplishments. But my biggest thrill? Empowering other high achieving women like you.

#AAHNPI Month is a wonderful opportunity to honor and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. It provides a platform to explore the origins and evolution of this significant observance, while also reflecting on the diverse histories and contributions of these groups. ⚖ To grasp equity comprehensively, we must first and foremost purposefully engage with history and acknowledge its ongoing influence on systematically marginalized communities in the United States. 💡 Additionally, the Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC) 2024 theme is “Advancing Leaders Through Innovation.” In a rapidly evolving world, innovation is key to addressing the complex challenges. Inclusion ensures AANHPI voices and experiences are heard and respected. By championing AANHPI leadership development, we can cultivate a new generation of leaders and also paving the way for greater inclusivity, diversity, and equity within both the workforce and society at large. 📚 Jane Hyun's Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling: Career Strategies for Asians is a must-read for allies seeking to address barriers and harness the power of culture in the workplace and build stronger understanding and relationshiops. Today, the president participated in the 2024 Global Women's Impact Forum and answered a student's question. I feel proud that Taiwan has such a president. Student: Mrs. President, how can one integrate their existing resources and strengths in times of resource scarcity to unleash their influence? President: Even if you lack resources, you still have yourself. You see, being a leader is not about being the smartest or having the most resources. Typically, a leader is someone who can get along well with others and knows what everyone is thinking. They can combine everyone's strengths to create a very strong team. So, your ability to observe and understand others is actually the most important thing as a leader, and when you develop a complementary relationship with others, you will be a good leader. So, you are the most important. These words deeply moved me and made me reflect.

Tomorrow I am a speaker at one of Portugal's most significant female entrepreneurship programs by The Coca-Cola Company and Impact Hub Lisbon. This program is designed to inspire 500 women to carve their path in entrepreneurship, and I couldn't be more honoured to have been considered as one of the inspiring professional women chosen. The main theme is "Be the Protagonist of Your Own Career" and we'll be discussing topics around purpose, work-life balance, mental health, and empathy-based leadership. A huge thanks for inviting me once again, and a big shoutout for putting together such a great program that helps women in entrepreneurship grow. PS: I am a firm believer that as a woman, you can have it all. A successful career, a loving family and personal time. I'm not going to say that is easy, but it is possible indeed. I'll deep dive into it tomorrow in case you are interested in knowing my views on it :) link in comments.
