Far East to EU volumes are exceeding last year’s volumes 📈. Blank sailings have been caused due to Cape of Good Hope (COGH) routings and port congestion in Asia🌍🚢 .To address this, a few extra loaders were added to in the second half of July to compensate for downsized vessels and the extra transit time caused by COGH routings ⏳. Spot rates: Rates continue to rise, but likely to plateau this August 📦📊. Fixed rates: Limited named account allocation. No new long-term rates since May. Existing customers are prioritized 🔒🤝. Equipment Situation : While carriers have improved equipment supply, there are still some shortages📉. High-paying contracts get priority 💼💰.

Lets know about something related to expense in the context of 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀. "𝓛ᴀᴛᴇ 𝚒𝚗 ʟᴏɢɪꜱᴛɪᴄꜱ ᴄᴀᴜꜱᴇꜱ ᴘᴇɴᴀʟᴛɪᴇꜱ" "𝗗𝗲𝗺𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲"in logistics management refers to a charge or penalty imposed by the carrier (such as a railroad or a shipping line) on the consignee (the recipient of goods) for delaying the release of cargo or equipment beyond the agreed-upon time frame. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 :The purpose of demurrage charges is to incentivize timely loading or unloading of cargo, as well as to compensate the carrier for the extra time its equipment or resources are tied up due to delays caused by the consignee(the recipient of goods). 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 : Demurrage charges can apply to various scenarios, such as: *Delayed unloading of cargo at a port terminal. *Keeping railcars or containers longer than allowed without paying extra. *Failure to return empty containers or railcars within the stipulated time frame. Carriers' continuing injection of additional vessels is paying off with an improvement of overall schedule reliability, but they can't control congestion. Though reliability increased 3.8% to 55.8% - the best so far in 2024 - the average delay for late arriving vessels keeps growing now up to 5.1 days. #schedulereliability #schedules #services #vessels #congestion
