The Power of Networks and Advisory Support for Female Entrepreneurs💫 Last week, we shared some key insights from the "Achieving Scale: Breaking Through Barriers for Female Founders" report by the Advisory Board Centre, highlighting the incredible growth and unique challenges faced by female founders. This week, we dive deeper into the critical role of support networks and advisory services for female entrepreneurs. The report reveals essential insights into the support networks crucial for female entrepreneurs. Despite the remarkable increase in female-founded businesses, the journey to scale is fraught with challenges. Networking and advisory support emerge as vital elements in this journey, yet many female founders struggle to access high-quality advice and networks. The study shows that female founders are more likely to seek help from generalist coaches and consultants, with only 57% seeking specialist advisors. This gap underscores the need for a robust support ecosystem encompassing government, investors, business groups, professional service providers, advisors, and personal supporters. These stakeholders play a crucial role in advancing female entrepreneurship and driving economic and social impact. Moreover, the report emphasizes the importance of building a supportive network that can provide tailored advice and resources. Achieving scale requires deliberate, informed decision-making and meaningful action. With 97% of female founders planning to grow their businesses, it is essential to create an environment that fosters their ambitions and helps them overcome barriers. Attending the Future Female Founders 😍? event at the University of Helsinki was a truly fruitful and inspiring experience! The event explored crucial topics such as vision and goals, time management, defined roles, self-care, and financial planning key elements for transforming ideas into impactful ventures. A huge thanks to three keynote speakers: Piia Maaranen, Sabrina Maniscalco and Tamara Alagirova, also thanks to there inspiring investor panelists: Miia Kaye, Pauliina Martikainen, Milla Koistinaho and Sara Kangaspeska for sharing their experiences. One of the most striking takeaways from Piia Maaranen’s talk was her emphasis on aligning plans and strategies not only with evolving "market" situations but also with life's unexpected challenges, such as caring for elderly parents. Her insights underscored the importance of flexibility and purpose in every journey, gender balance matter for investors and networking as superpower 💪 . I was especially moved by her parting thought, inspired by Simon Sinek: "Working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion."
