We need to get off the road to climate disaster. Our planet is at a critical point where the choices we make now will affect future generations. We can make a difference. We still have a chance to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, but it requires immediate and united action. Keeping global warming below 1.5 degrees is still possible. This is a crucial limit that, if exceeded, will lead to severe and irreversible consequences from climate change. But we need to step up our efforts. Now. We can't afford to delay anymore. Our 2023 Net Zero Economy Index highlights that we need to decarbonise seven times faster than at present if we are going to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. The gulf between ambition and action is a stark reality check on the need to do more.
