GlobeChem’s Post

A liquid metal alloy containing gallium, indium, and tin has been proposed as an additive to Portland cement (Allakhverdiev et al., 1993). A formulation is shown in Table 18.16. Theliquid metal alloy has a melting point of11◦C. Its presence does not cause corrosion of stainless steel up to 250◦C, but causes corrosion of steel alloys at temperature above 35◦C. It dissolves aluminum at room temperature. The alloy is harmless to skin and to mucous membranes. Isobutanol is used as an alcoholcomponent to increase strength ofproduced cement stone. It should be noted that gallium and indium are precious metals, and better used in the nonferrous metal industries. #Globechem #oilandgas #chemical #chemicalindustry #oilandgasindustry #waterfiltration #watermanagement #gashydratecontrol #wax #depostion #lubricants #oil #gas
