As healthcare providers, we’re constantly balancing efficiency with quality care. One system, initially developed by a group of wound care experts in 2002, has helped me alot over the years: 1. TIMERS Framework – Tissue, Infection/Inflammation, Moisture balance, Edge of wound, Regeneration/Repair, and Social factors. This updated framework, expanding on the original TIME model, further emphasizes not just wound healing, but also the broader social factors that can impact recovery. Breaking down wound assessment into these six categories has made my evaluations quicker and more thorough. Not only does it ensure I’m not missing any critical factors, but it also gives patients a clear understanding of what’s happening with their wounds. It’s easy to overlook small changes in wound progression when we’re busy, but having a consistent system in place allows for better monitoring, more precise interventions, and ultimately, better outcomes. If you’re looking to streamline your patient care without sacrificing quality, I highly recommend implementing structured systems like this. Do you use a specific framework or system in your practice? I’d love to hear about it! #Woundcare #WoundAssessment #MedicalEfficiency #PatientCare #ClinicalFrameworks

She founded Swiftsure Innovations with the mission of providing better quality of life and outcomes for mechanically ventilated patients. This was followed by the development of the SwishKit, a simple and easy solution for rinsing the oropharynx in patients who are intubated.
