The recent actions of the Supreme Court have drawn objections from four conservative justices. They believe the court should address significant social controversies more swiftly, particularly in light of recent rulings that have raised unanswered questions. In separate dissents and statements, these justices argue that the court has a responsibility to resolve these matters and provide clarity for lower courts and individuals affected by them. These conservative justices' concerns highlight the court's role in shaping legal and social norms. Their push for swifter action suggests a desire to influence the interpretation of recent decisions and guide future debates on issues such as gender identity and gun rights. The court's decisions have far-reaching implications for education, as they may impact school policies, curricula, and the rights of students and educators. As the justices continue to grapple with these controversies, it is essential to consider the potential consequences for society and the educational landscape. #news #education #now #soundviewtutoring

Nothing new here that has not been known since the last Industrial Revolution followed by introduction of Mass Industrial Model Education conveyor-belt system. And still excluding 30% of children from participating in learning leaving school as functionally and digitally illiterate as they arrived to join the other 2,000,000 NEET's at a disproportionate risk of ending-up at the revolving-door youth custody estate prior to big prison....... https://lnkd.in/eveae9MB Near Point Stress According to Arthur Marten Skeffington, O.D., the near work demands imposed by contemporary or modern society are incompatible with our physiological capabilities, and therefore provoke a stress response in which our eyes converge closer than accommodation.1 The resulting mismatch between vergence and accommodation leads to symptoms of asthenopia and the inability to sustain activity, inadequate visual efficiency and information processing, and ultimately, causes adaptive changes in the visual system.1 Because of these symptoms, many choose to avoid near work. Those who choose to allow their visual system to adapt may develop myopia or distortions in vergence and accommodative function. #PublicHealth #DigitalEyeHealth #DiversityAndExclusion

The Assault and Dismissed Hate Crime Charges In a disturbing incident at Salisbury University, at least 12 of the 15 students initially charged with a hate crime for assaulting a person based on their sexual orientation have had those charges dismissed. While the students still face misdemeanor counts, this dismissal raises concerns about the prosecution of hate crimes and the protection of vulnerable communities on college campuses. Implications for Education and Justice The dismissal of hate crime charges in this case highlights the need for comprehensive education on bias and discrimination in educational institutions. Students must understand the harmful consequences of hate crimes and the importance of creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. Furthermore, it underscores the challenges faced by prosecutors in proving intent in hate crime cases and the potential for bias or leniency in the justice system. This case serves as a reminder that the fight for equality and justice is ongoing and that we must continue to advocate for the protection of marginalized communities. #news #education #now #soundviewtutoring

Long overdue: CUNY students and staff have and continue to confront antisemitism on campuses to its discredit. The “data” on which this report relies comes at the expense of traumatic antisemitic lived experiences of students and faculty self-reporting and culling their traumas, again and again. Kudos to #hillel #brandeis #endjewhatred #standwithus Kudos to the Jewish students faculty and allies who bravely self-affiliate during a time when CUNY and other institutions have generally been inconsistent in enforcement of their own codes of conduct. Report cites 'unacceptable' antisemitism in CUNY system Rising antisemitism on CUNY campuses has sparked a need for change to policies aimed at preventing bias and discrimination, a new report says. https://lnkd.in/eGS73WwV Call 516-773-8300 for probation and suspension matters. THIEF ECONOMIC CYCLE- Society considers Thieves as social menace but a grade VII begged to differ. A teacher assigned homework to her students asking them to write an essay on “Thieves “. One student wrote that they were the backbone of a country’s economy, justifying that items were manufactured because of them - locks, safes, CCTVs and the list went on. Further he mentioned jobs created because of Thieves- Security guards, police forces, lawyers, judges…. What is your opinion? Do express your opinion in the comments. #Economicsgonewild #thievesforjobs #lolearning #Studentswisdom #Unexpectedheros #Economyhacks #LaughAndKearn
