Charles Eames's quote, "The details are not the details; they make the design," emphasizes the essential role of the small elements in creating a cohesive and impactful design. It's a reminder that every seemingly minor choice—textures, finishes, proportions, or even the stitching on a sofa—has a profound effect on the final outcome. Details define the whole, add functionality, create emotion, and tell a story. #interiordesign #detailsmatter #quoteoftheday

The design rule you don't want to break ✨ Anyone designing a space knows that choosing a color palette is one of the most challenging yet crucial decisions when it comes to creating a space you LOVE. The 60-30-10 rule offers you a simple yet sophisticated guide to creating a balanced and beautifully designed room. Ready to master it and ditch color confusion? Here's your foolproof formula: ▪️ 60% of your room should be a dominant color, setting the tone for the overall design. ▪️ 30% should be a secondary color, providing contrast and depth. ▪️ 10% is reserved for accents, adding that final pop of personality and intrigue. Think of it as your blueprint for balance, allowing your creativity and personality to shine. #designtrends2024 #designrulestoliveby #jbrighamteam #jbrighamrealestate #jaylonbrigham #jaylonbrighamrealestate #compass #compassrealestate #agentsofcompass

Simplicity often beats complexity. Minimalist design focuses on essentials, creating striking visuals that capture the audience's attention. By eliminating unnecessary elements, it becomes easier to understand and enjoy the product. In an era of excessive information, minimalist design offers a refreshing break. With neutral colors, clean lines, and effective use of space, it provides an elegant and modern feel. You can see more on https://bit.ly/4c1cPCI

Think of good design like a perfect couch: solid, supportive, and stylish. Opt for timeless over trendy—go with something that has a solid foundation that you can easily refresh with new accents instead of replacing entirely. #TimelessStyle #TimelessDesign #DesignWisdom #CWPDesign

Mood boards aren’t just about inspiration—they’re powerful decision-making tools! Recently, I was working on a modern, minimalistic design where the client loved sleek lines and a neutral palette but felt torn about the extensive use of grey. They wanted the space to feel both calm and sophisticated but were unsure whether grey would make the space too cold or uninviting. To help them decide, I created two separate mood boards—one showcasing different shades of grey paired with warm accents, and another integrating more color while maintaining the minimalist aesthetic. This visual comparison allowed the client to see how various elements—furniture, fixtures, and textures—would come together, helping them confidently choose the right direction. The right mood board doesn’t just inspire—it simplifies choices, aligns expectations, and ensures everyone is on the same page from start to finish. #moodboard #conceptboard #designconcept #interiordesign #modern #minimalistic #greyinterior #asthetic

Simplicity is key when it comes to styling your home. Over the years, I’ve learned that less truly is more. When starting a new design project, I advise adding everything you think you want, then taking a step back to evaluate and begin editing. By removing items and refining the space, you can achieve a clean, cohesive look that truly reflects your style. This method ensures that each piece in the room has a purpose and contributes to the overall aesthetic. Embrace simplicity to create a space that feels both elegant and personal. #alexdauley #interiordesign #designtips

This custom zebra-paneled door is a striking example of how bold design can be paired with timeless elegance. The dramatic hide pattern grabs your attention, but it’s the thoughtful details—the brass nailhead trim and polished knobs—that elevate the piece to something truly extraordinary. At Shelly Lloyd Designs, we believe that even the smallest details should make a lasting impression. Bespoke elements like this aren’t just functional—they tell a story and add enduring value to a space. Let’s talk about how striking, one-of-a-kind design can enhance your next project. #StrikingDesign #TimelessElegance #ShellyLloydDesigns
