🌸 𝓗𝓪𝓹𝓹𝔂 𝓦𝓸𝓶𝓮𝓷'𝓼 𝓓𝓪𝔂 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒! 🌸 At GM Boiler and Steam, a 100% women-owned business, we proudly celebrate the significant contributions women make in the boiler and manufacturing industries. As Kathryn Kelley, Executive Director of the Ohio Manufacturing Institute, said: "Women are change agents, whether they are on the manufacturing shop floor or reporting on major events that affect our livelihoods. Our perspectives provide strong contributions to a diverse workforce – we need to own that power at the workplace." We honor the legacy of the more than 20,000 women who bravely marched to the Union Buildings on 9 August 1956 in protest against the oppressive Pass Laws. Their courage reminds us that women's voices are powerful forces for change. We are committed to paving the way for women in the boiler industry. Rosharon Morgan, our next-generation owner, recently graduated from Duke University, exemplifying our belief in empowering women to lead and innovate. Together, we will continue to be the change we wish to see in this industry. Let's celebrate and empower the women who drive innovation and excellence in our industry! 👷♀️ 💪 Happy Women's Day! 💃 #WomensDay2024 #WomensMonth #GMBoilerAndSteam #WomenInBoilers #WomenInBoilersAfrica #WomenInBoilersSouthAfrica #WomenInManufacturing #EmpowerWomen #BeTheChange #DiversityInTheWorkplace #ProudlyWomenOwned #BreakingBarriers #CelebratingWomen

Speaking as someone who hadn’t even imagined that marketing was a career choice (Scotland, 70’s childhood, ‘it’s not work if you’re not sweating…’), let alone waste, I can vouch for how brilliant it is! It’s an evolving industry, which is quite rightly championing better, more sustainable management of waste. At Biffa we go one step further and are actively working to reduce waste and enable a more circular economy. It’s not just bins and trucks, collecting waste. It’s about surplus redistribution, reuse, recycling, and recovery of materials. That means roles for sustainability strategists, biodiversity enthusiasts, material experts, caring chemists, customer champions, visionary engineers, and much more. The Women In Waste group is a forum to consider how we can encourage more women into the industry, by addressing barriers and creating a supportive environment. The conference was a great event and genuinely inspiring. But don’t take my word for it, have a listen to some of Biffa’s leaders below 👇 #womeninwaste
At our Women in Waste Conference last week, we asked Biffa senior leaders how we could encourage more women to work in the waste industry. Watch the video below 👇

Tomorrow, we face a pivotal moment—one that asks each of us to stand up, speak out, and trust in our collective strength. For women, especially, this moment carries weight. In a climate where our rights and futures feel uncertain, we have the opportunity to stand strong and make it clear: women’s voices matter. Tomorrow isn’t just about casting a vote; it’s about holding on to our right to lead, to choose, and to be heard. So, as we face this pivotal moment, let’s remember the resilience that brought us here and the courage we’ll need moving forward. Trust in our strength, trust in each other, and let’s prepare to keep fighting for the future we believe in. #WomenWhoLead #StrengthInUnity #DrYasminDavidds #YouVoteMatters #StandTogether #WomenRise

Why is women's participation in driving roles decreasing? 🚛 Research indicates this decline stems from multiple factors, including safety concerns, perceived gender bias, and inadequate support systems. But with an estimated shortage of 80,000 professional drivers that could reach 160,000 by 2030, bringing more women into the industry isn't just about diversity – it's an economic imperative.💲 The Women In Trucking Association commitment to this mission led them to partner with Drive My Way's Spark Change Lab to jumpstart this critical dialogue and move the industry from discussion to action.⭐️ ➡️ Want to learn more?
