The cost of viewing: The cost of view in a single theatre is multiplied when viewed in a multiplex. That is the reason why many people are resorting to OTT. The OTT s are many. That is the reason why OTT s are forbidden for many. The cost of OTT s should be reduced.

Hollywood’s iconic Egyptian Theatre has survived earthquakes, recessions and strikes, as well as a number of remodels. On Nov. 9, Netflix reveals an extensive remodel of the 101-year old theater that will also host screenings for the American Cinematheque. Among the many changes: the palm tree planters have been removed from the forecourt, allowing more room for red carpets and events, while the removal of the balcony from the auditorium enables better sightlines and better sound. Sound-absorbing plaster also helps improve the Dolby Atmos sound, while projection is available in 35mm and 70mm as well as nitrate – making it one of only five theaters in the country equipped for the vintage format.

Amid widespread panic over the supposed death of the theatrical film industry, one group of theater chains has developed a solution: pickleball. The National Association of Theatre Owners, which represents hundreds of theater chains in all 50 states and across more than 100 countries, announced a $2.2 billion pledge Thursday to upgrade the theatrical experience. In addition to updating sound systems, seating, concessions, and laser projection tech, theaters say they plan to invest in building ancillary amenities on theatrical complexes, which could include pickleball courts, bowling alleys, arcades, and ropes courses. "This investment reflects that commitment in a tangible way that every moviegoer will see and enjoy," NATO president and CEO Michael O'Leary said in a statement. The association's eight largest member chains — AMC Entertainment, Regal Cinemas, Cinemark USA, Cineplex, Marcus Theatres, B&B Theatres, Harkins Theatres, and Santikos Entertainment — pledged more than $2 billion to be implemented over the next three years, with smaller chains and local single-screen venues pledging additional funds.

🎭 British theatres offer outstanding productions at exceptional value. While the cost of attending the theatre sparks lively discussion, focusing exclusively on prices often misses the bigger picture. 💷 What does the data tell us? According to UK Theatre, the majority of tickets sold in regional theatres cost under £35, with 99.9% priced below £100. Even in commercial venues, 65% of all tickets sold for less than £45. Furthermore, since 2019, the average ticket price at UK Theatre venues has decreased by 5% in real terms, failing to keep pace with inflation. A thriving theatre plays a pivotal role in place-making, drawing people to local high streets, boosting tourism and driving substantial economic benefits. For every £1 spent on a theatre ticket, an additional £1.40 is generated within the local economy. However, their future depends on bold action. Increased public investment, innovative policies and an honest dialogue about ticket pricing are critical to sustaining and growing this invaluable sector. Read more:
