Did you know the oldest known road is the "Sweet Track" in England? Built around 3800 B.C., it was made of wooden planks laid across marshland, designed to connect early settlements. It shows just how long humans have been mastering road construction! #roadconstruction #mdot #constructioncompany #marylandbusiness #infrastructuredevelopment

This photo was taken in 1919, most people and Torontoni know this area very well as you drive on Don Valley Parkway (DVP) these day. You can see how wide was the Don River and extended land surrounding the river and in background you can see the Bloor viaducts bridge under construction. The first two arches were converted to DVP highway and we drives underneath everyday as you head south or North from/To Toronto. This is one one of reasons we as humans were messing up with nature. We converted rivers and shore lines to accommodate infrastructure that shouldn’t be there in first place. That one of reason we reduced Don river to a thin strip that overflow water due to heavy rain no where to go. City planning should encourage integration with nature environment and not destroying it. It is time for more public transportation and smart integration with environment.

🔨 Honoring Memorial Weekend in Heavy Civil Construction 🏗️ As we are just off the back of Memorial Weekend, we paused to honor and remember the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Their courage and dedication have paved the way for the freedoms that many of us enjoy today. In the spirit of honoring their legacy, we reflect on the significance of work in heavy civil construction. Each project undertook in the Northeast—be it bridges, highways, tunnels, or other critical infrastructure—contributes to the foundation of the nation’s future. The efforts not only build physical structures but also strengthen communities and support economic growth. This weekend, while we take time to commemorate and spend moments with loved ones, let’s also recognize the hardworking teams on the ground. Their commitment to excellence and safety ensures that we can continue to deliver essential projects that stand the test of time. 🏅 Key Projects Making an Impact: -The New Interstate Connector: Enhancing regional connectivity and reducing travel times. -East River Bridge Rehabilitation: Preserving a vital link in the city’s infrastructure. -Water Treatment Facility Upgrades: Ensuring clean and safe water for our communities. I hope everyone had a safe and reflective Memorial Weekend. #MemorialDay #CivilConstruction #Infrastructure #NortheastProjects #HonoringHeroes #BuildingTheFuture
