Greg is the Director of the Office of Equal Business Opportunity for Jacksonville, FL and the Administrator of the Jacksonville Small Emerging Business #JSEB program. His work heavily influences economic development for entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout Jacksonville and is working on legislation to replicate that framework across other states, regions and at the federal level. He is a HUGE advocate for #entrepreneurship and providing resources #smallbusiness owners need to thrive. Greg shares his view that entrepreneurship is a mindset. “So many people out there either don't realize they're entrepreneurs or they should be entrepreneurs and they don't think it's viable for them. Everyone is an entrepreneur, but when you decide to use entrepreneurship as a business owner, you're now saying 'I'm solving a problem at a profit.' Entrepreneurs create. They create solutions. But as a business, they create solutions at of profit” Tune in and learn more! 💡 Key concepts and takeaways: 💡 🔹 45 % of US employment is from small businesses, 40% from corporations, 15 % from government 🔹5 critical resources needed by small business to thrive: legislation, education, community, capital, and contracts 🔹SEC system concept: have a relationship with a supplier, an employee, and a consultant 🔹Entrepreneurial Wellness Plans are a core component of every business plan 🔹Leverage unsolicited proposals to scale your business and bypass competition 💻 📚 🎙️ Resources Shared in this Episode 🎙️📚 💻 ✔️ Jacksonville Small & Emerging Business https://lnkd.in/e_zG2k4i ✔️ U.S. Small Business Administration ✔️ SBA Small Business Development Center https://bit.ly/4e4Bern ✔️ Office of Veterans Business Development ✔️ Veterans Business Outreach Center ✔️ VisitAble, Founder Joe Jamison, CPACC - Disability Inclusion and resources ✔️ Edward Lowe Foundation ✔️ GrowFL Catch this episode on YouTube, Apple, Spotify and all your favorite podcast outlets. I ran my first business at just 27. It was a nature-based tourism business. I applied for a casual tour guiding job and walked out with an offer to be a co-owner. 🤯 I went through so many feelings I can't run a business? Who am I to accept this offer? Can we even afford to give this a go? But my intuition was saying do it. Take the leap. After a call with my husband, who was 100% on board, we went all in. And it was a rollercoaster. Navigating so many limiting beliefs, opinions from others, not making enough money to pay myself... To help me stay grounded, I listened to podcasts of successful business owners. Trying to find out what strategies they were using to grow and navigate the business world. What I found was that as a collective, they didn't have just one special strategy, or offer, or social media platform. In fact, they were all really different. But they did all have one thing in common. They had worked deeply on their mindset. And thats what led them to success. That's why I do what I do today. Because mindset is ultimately the key to your wildest version of success. 🔑 #BusinessOwner #BusinessJourney #PersonalDevelopment #Mindset

Kerry Dobson's words echo in my mind. "Group Programs should be referable, profitable, and repeatable." October was a busy month with lots of education and networking. I regrouped with Kerry and got some helpful downloads. Kerry is a Group Program Architect. She works with authors, coaches, and thought leaders. She's also the host of "The Great Revolution Private Podcast." I've been thinking a lot about how accountability in group programs helps reduce drop-off rates and improve client results. Last month, I began connecting with group program coaches to share how I add value as a fractional group program coach. I also delivered "Beat Procrastination + Achieve Focus with Body-Doubling" for Coaches BBQ. I shared the benefits of body-doubling and explained how we use it in the Vibe High Coworking Club. The Coworking Club is a community of coaches, consultants, and small business owners. We meet weekly on Wednesdays for introvert-friendly, virtual co-working sessions. These sessions are an opportunity for you to focus on deep work and find your flow state. 👀 If you'd like to attend a complimentary session and try it out, comment "FOCUS" below or DM me. Finish the last quarter of the year off strong + dedicate time to deep work so you can check some things off that list 📝

So many business coaches out here are selling their path to success, and that path isn’t replicable. A few examples: They’re selling you their “business plan,” they’re ignoring that they… ❌ Started in early online business days - not replicable In the late aughts and 2010’s, the market was way less saturated and people were less savvy about online business coaches. It was easier to capture people’s attention, build a list, and sell stuff. If you started in the past few years, the market is different. ❌ Went viral by capitalizing on a cultural moment - not replicable I know a handful of coaches whose businesses “took off” when they made content in response to a cultural moment, and that content went viral. Viral is never replicable. ❌ Were part of The Syndicate - not replicable (Don’t know what that is? Listen to these two episodes from Rachael Kay Albers podcast. They’ll blow your mind: Six-Figure Masterminds, Marie Forleo, and The Syndicate: https://lnkd.in/dYA2xWdX Clickfunnels to Hell, Fake It Til You Make It, and Moneyball - The Online Family Tree: https://lnkd.in/dghzJU6h) ❌ Hobnob with celebrities and business tycoons - not replicable You aren’t going to Richard Branson’s island. ❌Have a 100,000-person list - not replicable People who promise tens- and hundreds-thousand-dollar launches have lists of tens or hundreds of thousands of people that they’ve built over several years. If you don’t have that, you likely won’t see the same success on day one. — Watch out for “If I did it, you can too.” Because sometimes, you can’t. Not because you aren’t smart, or ambitious, or you don’t work hard. Because it’s not possible. It was a result of circumstances that don’t exist anymore. That’s not to say you can’t achieve incredible success. But don’t try to replicate their way. Do it your own way. — Without naming names, what’s some not-great business coach behavior you’ve seen recently? #womenentrepreneurs #womeninbusiness #womenoflinkedin #consultants #podcast
