Wow. This was two years ago. Clearly, there's a business goal attached to this contest/campaign. However, through the lens of some, contests are lifelines, the only option for survival. Most of the contestants of these types of contest usually would want to test their capacity against a bigger population, some would want to get bragging rights or additional accolades. There's nothing wrong with those 💯 For people in the same circumstance as I was, this is the last option they have, I had. ❗Indeed, the best option is when you have no option. Without any exaggeration, I curated my entry with my life on the line. I badly want to win it, so I can pay the bills which were months in due. I prayed hard and worked harder. God will always provide, they say. For me, our Lord will have an easier way to answer our prayers if we put the work too to make it happen. 🙏 Also, God's timing and judgement are always perfect. He only provides when you need it. To further illustrate, I joined the succeeding run of the same contest. By that time, I was already blessed with a Job. My goal then was to test my capacity. I submitted 3 business case solutions. I did not win any. 😊💙 Why? Probably, I was not able to curate the best solution for the cases or someone out there was holding on by a thread to survive. Both are okay with me. 💙 We don't need all the blessings in the world. We are blessed with what we need when we need it. Let's appreciate what we have, not otherwise. 💯 -- If you have seemingly insurmountable challenges now, don't worry too much. Counterintuitive, yes, but worrying won't solve anything. Based on what worked for me, I just kept working, kept looking for solutions. Just do the work and pray. Control what you can today. God will handle what you can't . 🙏 Padayon lang. The best option is having no option. Sex is a choice Menstruation is not! Attending to the menstrual period monthly is difficult - very tough for 100% of menstruators. What is more challenging? Not having funds to procure resources to attend to something inevitable, compulsory occurring 5-7 days every month - for some females, it's more days a month😭 Being vulnerable to infections due to the inability to use hygienic materials. Being vulnerable to social vices, sexual abuse and others in a bid to source for sanitary products. That is about 84 times or more every year😭 of constantly seeing menstrual blood and not having a choice to instruct it not to come. Adolescent girls are the targets! Adolescent girls are the worst hit! Women with no source of livelihood are vulnerable! I am immensely grateful to the organizations, and individuals passionate about the health, well-being and empowerment of women, girls and boys who supported us in providing 39,960 eco-friendly NAFDAC-Certified washable, reusable sanitary pads last year in Oyo, Ogun and Kwara states, reaching more than 3,000 women and girls. We set out to ensure females in more states no longer suffer due to the compulsory call of nature - menstruation. We will kick start this year with a target to distribute 240,000 NAFDAC-certified washable, reusable sanitary pads reaching 20,000 girls and women including boys and establish sanitary pad banks across schools starting with 4 states in Nigeria. Do I have the resources to make this happen? Not yet Will it happen? Absolutely! Will you join me on this voluntary, humanitarian journey? I hope so! Can this small grant help us reach more girls and women who are unable to afford hygienic sanitary pads monthly?
