Just had the privilege of judging a dynamic group discussion competition organized by our Placement Preparation Committee - Bharadwaj Varma, Aditya Rudroj, Sumit Kumar & Sumit Mandal along with Avani Jain under the guidance of Payal Pitliya. We have been organising competitions centered around guesstimates, know your company, product teardown, case studies etc. These LPG competitions not only help in placement preparation but also sharpen essential skills like public speaking and effective communication. Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships. Yesterday was the last presentation for our SDG project as new JCIN UNIBEN members. Our SDG project which centered on SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth took us from person to person and class to class educating young civilians like ourselves on the importance of decent work. Every one of us put in our very best for this project and I am very proud of our achievements. Alone we can do so little but together we can do much. I met Mr. Andrew Igbineweka, founder of GoAbitFurther Africa at the second JCIN UNIBEN business meeting for the semester. The Theme was Defining the Decade: Maximizing your days on campus as a student. He spoke about his days as a 100-level student, it was a lively and insightful lecture. In this lecture, I heard things my father always tells my siblings and me. Ask questions, don't make assumptions, and answer questions even though you are unsure of the answer, participate more, and so on. It was a wonderful experience for me to hear these exact sentences from someone else. There were also some quotes I picked up like “Nobody becomes more from giving less” and “There's so much you'll learn from being uncomfortable”.
