Similar to many companies I have a SLACK for each company that I'm involved. The slack channel I'm "on it like white on rice" is the #Customer-Feedback channel. If you want to see myself and a bunch of other superstars at SkyFi diigest, analyze and have an action plan with alacrity, post something in the #Customer-Feedback channel. It is our most important channel and has been the cornerstone of our flywheel of customer requests/problems->product market fit-> market expansion. While the road to expanding the market may be slow, we are lightning fast at adopting/changing our road map based on customer feedback. This religious focus on feedback, mostly negative or feature requests as positive feedback goes in the #Wins channel, allows us to put our customers first and we get free consultations on how to make our product better. We wouldn't be in the excellent position we currently are without it. To paraphrase the great coach Vince Lombardi. There are many templates that can be used for planning a great Revenue Kickoff and while I firmly believe in the "trace, don’t draw" approach, I also think there is no “right way" to set up a kickoff. For my previous organization's kickoff, my team and I built a case competition to hone our field’s discovery & business case expertise. This year, at Contentful, we dove into the different stages of our new Customer Journey and skills in breakouts. Matching your company's context, culture, and goals is key to setting up your teams for success in a new fiscal year. Having (often unreasonably) high expectations can make it hard to celebrate the small wins. The big wins can become diluted to be launch pads for bigger opportunities. 🚀 Sometimes it takes encouragement from people like Chloe Dukes for me to lead a team celebration. 🎉 Like, when Sinch Mailjet had it's best month (possibly ever in the history of the product) in August. 📈 I almost didn't believe the results. 🙈 Since most of our users are in France, the end of summer is usually our slowest time of year and the past few months have been full of challenges. 🇫🇷 There were reasons to be skeptical. 🤔 Cross-functional team members helped me triple check and validate hypothesis. 🕵♀️ Did send skyrocket because of the Olympics? Marion Deveaux sure thought so. 🏅 Were we seeing the results of a pricing initiative led by Natalie Lynch? 💸 Did we find a more precise way to protect our platform Nicholas Schafer? 🤺 Were optimizations at the top of the funnel starting to return Jake Gaito? 🎯 How impactful was removing friction from signup and launching a new welcome guide Jorge Miramontes? 👋 How many users were saving time (and upgrading) by using new AI and Landing Page features Stephanie Watson led, Enora Gicquel's team built and Laura Itner promoted? 💻 Turned out a little of everything contributed to our success! Just like when things go south and there's not a single smoking gun. Which is why it's so important to get to know each other, build trust, create a space where everyone can have a hypothesis, and empower every member of the team to make decisions. 🙌 I only called out a few of the incredible team members I have the privilege of working closely with everyday here. MANY others across sales, support, finance, and engineering work hard every day to deliver value to Mailjet's users and to break down the silos across our team.
