The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) aims to provide 1 crore internships for technical graduates by 2025, with 54 lakh internships already completed. A big part of this growth comes from virtual internships, which became popular during the COVID-19 pandemic. These online internships now make up 40-50% of all internships available and have been especially helpful for students in remote areas, giving them access to industry experience that was once out of reach. AICTE has teamed up with major companies like Google, Microsoft, and TCS, as well as smaller businesses (MSMEs), to offer more internships. MSMEs, which are an important part of India's economy, have the potential to create millions of new internship opportunities, helping to further expand AICTE’s efforts. AICTE is also working to make internships more inclusive by addressing the issue of unpaid internships and encouraging companies to offer paid positions, so all students, regardless of their background, have equal chances to gain experience. #internship #highereducation #remoteinternship #industryinternship

I stopped posting regular content on LinkedIn and am not using topmate as well. I have received a few messages asking about the same. The reason is, I believe there are many people out there who can provide better guidance on placements, internships, and other career advice. Recently, I saw some Delhi University students, who are not even a passout yet or just fresh passout, are charging upto 500 rupees on Topmate for placement or internship guidance. I genuinely feel that simply securing an internship or UG placement does not qualify someone to be called a "mentor". The happiness of getting your first internship/job is unmatched. I still remember when I got my first internship, I had my practical exams going on. I used to live nearby from my college. I gave the first round and then rushed to college for my exam and then again came back to gave the second one. Whenever I had any tests or online assessments, I used to let my parents know about it. This time, too, I told them about the interview. After giving all the rounds, I was waiting for the result.I was literally trembling with fear, having uncertainty in my mind. Since the interviews went well, I was confident of selection, but again one can't be 100% sure. I suddenly received a text from my father asking about the result. I was about to type saying I hadn't got it yet when suddenly I got the mail stating I'm selected. Literally the timing was so correct. I seriously didn't know how to react, what to say. I already had thoughts that if I got rejected, I would be breaking my parents' hope. This still remains the best moment of my entire life. Seeing your parents happy and proud of you is the only thing children aspire for.
