Earlier this week our Managing Director Gokhan Hassan MSc MRICS, published the BESA Top 30 M&E Contractors list. Over the past 12 months, the M&E building services sector has seen many market leaders such as SES Engineering Services, Skanska, TClarke and Gratte Brothers Group increase turnover. The list has also seen several other leading businesses including Bancroft Ltd, MCS and PIP Electrics & Building Services Ltd flourish in a very competitive industry. Having interviewed some key industry figureheads Dan Williams, Gavin Body MCIBSE and John Kelly; it is clear that the construction industry is set for further growth with a clear pipeline of work for the next 4-5 years across a broad range of sectors. In a challenging economy, a focus seems to be placed on the quality of project delivery and clients understanding the true value that M&E contractors can offer.

From ACEI's perspective, Graeme Tinney's insights on the legal and contractual barriers within Ireland’s National Development Plan are crucial. We fully support the call for a shift away from joint and several liability to unlock the construction sector’s full potential. Collaborative efforts in risk management will pave the way for achieving our ambitious infrastructure targets. Thank you, Graeme Tinney, for highlighting this important issue. #RiskManagement #ACEI #ConstructionSector #InfrastructureDevelopment

The current legal and contractual frameworks were identified as significant barriers to achieving these infrastructure goals. A shift away from joint and several liability is seen as essential to unlocking the construction sector’s full potential.
