How the New Zealand All Blacks inspired our company Culture Book 🏉 Don’t worry, Kainos hasn’t introduced the haka at the start of team meetings! This is about how the New Zealand rugby team influenced our recently released company culture book… The All Blacks have long been synonymous with excellence, teamwork, and a culture of continuous improvement. However, their legacy extends far beyond the rugby pitch, inspiring so many people and organisations across the globe. Kainos is no exception. In fact, when we recently launched our company Culture Book, we took inspiration from a key part of the All Blacks’ culture to help tell our story; the little black book. When a player makes the All Blacks, they’re given a small black book, bound in leather. The first few pages are about the club’s legacy, history and what they have achieved over the years. The next section outlines the principles, values, standards and the character of the team. The rest of the pages are blank, waiting to be filled. Each player is encouraged to capture their experiences while playing at the club. This is designed to inspire themselves and others who will follow in their footsteps. We absolutely loved this concept and saw it as a great way to keep our own story alive. So, we decided to implement this in own Culture Book. 📕 Read The Kainos Culture Book: https://lnkd.in/efZ4h6_3 Our Culture Book brings together our history, mission, values and aspirations into one space, providing a foundation for our people to work from. It’s written by our people for everyone who has an interest in who we are and why we do what we do. Best of all, the back pages are blank and we intend to keep our story alive by inviting anyone who works for us, with us or alongside us to add to these. Recognition is crucial for any team! 💼 What does your team do? I’ll go first: I once initiated a peer-to-peer recognition program where we passed around a championship belt monthly. 🏆 It was fun, a bit cheesy, but a nice source of pride for us all. We each got to keep the belt at our desks for a while and congratulated each other when we popped by to visit.
