Meet Dalton! 👋🛻 Life moved him to San Antonio where he struggled to find steady work. Dalton was going through his savings and was on the verge of being homeless for the third time in his life, until fate brought him to Goodwill. Dalton applied to be a part of Grounds Maintenance as a second job. Right before he was offered the job, he asked if there was any opportunity for him to utilize his CDL License. Luckily, there was an opening for the Home Pickup Team. Dalton has been with the Home Pickup team since October 2022, and it has been his sole full-time job ever since. Being on the Home Pickup team has given Dalton peace of mind where he doesn’t have to worry if he’ll have enough to pay his rent and become homeless again. “I pride myself in being genuine with our customers. I love talking to everyone and I can always find a common ground for conversation,” Dalton said. #SmilesOfGoodwill To read more about Dalton's journey, please visit https://lnkd.in/g_uCC7z9. 🔗 #Goodwill #GoodwillSanAntonio #GoodJobEveryone👍

The boomer migration to North Georgia, East Tennessee, the Carolinas and western Virginia is reshaping housing prices, traffic patterns, restaurant options and how local governments cope with something they haven’t had to handle before: explosive growth. Drawn by lower housing costs and living expenses, lower taxes, lower insurance costs, low crime, warm weather (but with seasons) and less chance of hurricanes, an older, wealthier population is arriving and demanding a level of services from governments and businesses that neither had to provide in the past.

There's a 𝙇𝙄𝙀 about mobile home parks. And it's not fair. The lie is the stigma about the residents. Shows like Trailer Park Boys make them out to be -irresponsible. -stupid. -mean. This couldn't be further from the truth. Most people living in mobile home parks are good folks who just need an affordable place to live. Runaway housing costs have left lower income people in a bind. Mobile home parks are one of the few places left these folks can afford to live. Here are real examples of who lives in a MHP are from my own properties: -The man pouring your beer at the golf course. -The lady at the front desk in your doctor's office. -The retired guy you see walking his dog. -The friendly grocery store clerk. By and large they are good people and the "Trailer Park Boys" stigma is flat wrong. So remember, not every group of people is the way they are portrayed on TV. #mobilehomeparks #raisemasters30 #realestate

People have this unfair idea about mobile home parks, and it's just not right. The problem? The way people think about the folks who live there. Shows like Trailer Park Boys make them seem irresponsible, selfish, dumb, and mean. But that's totally off the mark. In reality, most people in mobile home parks are just regular, good-hearted folks looking for an affordable place to call home. With housing costs shooting up, these parks are often the only option they can afford.✨ Let me give you some real examples from my own parks: ◼️There's that retired guy who walks his dog every day. ◼️The person serving drinks at the golf club. ◼️The friendly face you see at the doctor's office. ◼️And the clerk who greets you with a smile at the grocery store.. These are just a few examples, but the point is, they're normal people just like you and me. The stereotype from shows like Trailer Park Boys is totally wrong. Have you ever lived in a mobile home park? Do you know someone who does? I'd love to hear their story. Let’s connect & share your thoughts! #MobileHomeParkLife #BreakingStereotypes #Community

How can your team and organization be Stronger Together? The Rental Assistance division of the Tennessee Housing Development Agency does great and important work for low-income families who cannot pay their rent. They have a unique strategy to provide a choice of location to these families. It's a great program with great people. Yesterday, I was honored to facilitate their staffwide #retreat where employees from across the state of Tennessee came together as one team. We walked through showing up as a team player, building strong individual #teams, and creating a true team of teams across the state. Lots of fun, activities, insights, and challenge. What does it take to be Stronger Together? It takes an unrelenting, persistent discipline of working together, day in and day out. It is discipline and it is work. But it is well worth it in terms of great results, high productivity, joy, retention, and morale. What is your team doing to be #StrongerTogether? P.S. In the pic, we're all taking a selfie as a reminder of the behaviors to be a great team player.
