We honor the remarkable contribution that our nearest animal cousins make to the biodiversity of our world today. Chimpanzees are social, intelligent animals that have more than 98% of our DNA in common. They serve as a reminder of the value of compassion, community, and family. Chimpanzees are threatened by a number of factors, such as poaching and deforestation. Today is a great opportunity to spread awareness and take action to save these incredible animals. Help us make a difference by spreading the word and supporting conservation efforts! By working together, we can ensure that chimpanzees and their ecosystems have a better future.🌳 #WorldChimpanzeeDay #SaveTheChimps #ProtectOurPlanet #ChimpanzeeConservation

🌍 Did you know that globally, over 1.6 billion people depend on forests for their livelihoods, yet deforestation and habitat loss continue to threaten both communities and wildlife? (Source: United Nations). The need for protecting ecosystems that sustain both people and wildlife has never been more urgent. That’s why we’re pleased to highlight Borana Lodge, our Global Ecosphere Retreat® member and the recipient of the "Most OutThere Initiative in Community, Conservation, and Sustainability" at the Experientialist® Awards. Borana Lodge is driving tangible impact through an innovative business model where 24% of guest revenue directly funds conservation efforts within the Borana Conservancy, helping protect ecosystems while enhancing the wellbeing of local communities. But impact doesn’t stop there. With the recent £7,500/$10,000 award, Borana Lodge extended its reach by investing in the Borana Mobile Clinic, a travelling healthcare facility serving over 1,000 people per month in remote Kenyan communities. This initiative not only improves health outcomes but also strengthens the connection between people and conservation. 🌿 Get inspired by Borana Lodge’s approach to protecting habitats and supporting local people via the link in the comment below 👇 #InIt4TheLongRun #The4Cs

Are you taking part? The No Mow May campaign started in 2019 by Plantlife, the wild plant conservation charity, to encourage the growth of wildflowers. Why take part? ~97% of flower-rich meadows have been lost since the 1930’s, a vital food source for pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Allowing grass to grow can have huge benefits to the environment and to wildlife. CBRE Property Management are working with clients to implement and support this campaign across the portfolios we manage. However, this is something you can also take part in at home in your own garden. Will you join us in enhancing biodiversity? #nomowmay #biodiversity #plantlife

The African buffalo is a keystone species in the Aberdares ecosystem, playing a crucial role in maintaining the balance of this biodiverse habitat. Known for its resilience and strength, the buffalo not only contributes to the health of the grasslands by grazing, but also shapes the landscape through its movements, creating pathways that other wildlife use. This herbivorous mammal, which can often be seen in herds, helps regulate plant growth and maintain open areas that are vital for other species such as zebras, elephants, and various antelopes. Buffaloes’ movements aid in seed dispersal, further enriching the Aberdare forests and grasslands. However, buffalo populations are threatened by habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict. Protecting the Aberdares ecosystem, including the buffalo, is essential for preserving its biodiversity. Sustainable conservation practices and community engagement initiatives are critical to ensuring that the buffalo continues to thrive in this majestic landscape. Photo Credit: Robyn Preston
