🐣 SoSquared has flown the nest 🐥 After two years in Exchange at Department 's shared space we've moved up to the 4th floor, where the air is crisp. Shared spaces are definitely the best option for those early days, but timing when to transition can be difficult; here's what we considered: ➕ Cohesion - having your own space fosters a strong sense of belonging and unity, making everyone feel more connected. In general it's just more enjoyable coming to the office. ➕ Focus - no more competing for a quiet corner or having meetings in open, noisy spaces. ➕ Whilst we're sharing with another company, we're still able to create our own work atmosphere and tailor the space to everyone's needs, increasing productivity (hopefully). ➕ Somewhere to bring clients - Bringing clients to a space which is ours leaves a much better impression. Think about the difference between taking someone back to your house, or your parents... ➖ Increased cost - shared spaces are always going to be cheaper, especially if you're on an incubator or accelerator programme (A good half-way house is sharing with another company). ➖ Isolation - you meet a lot of other companies in a shared space, which can help with ideation and networking, particularly in those early days. ➖ Flexibility - In a shared space you can always add or remove seats as needed. Dedicated offices get out-grown. We're loving having our own space, but curious whether others have found the same pressure to change, or found shared spaces working for them. Has anyone commercially in the Waco area studied other cities that have thriving downtown areas. 1 such city that come to mind is Georgetown,TX . The downtown area in Georgetown has a lot of commercial spaces that are occupied. Why can’t Waco have a similar concept? What’s the man hold up in getting more commercial spaces filled downtown. Driving through downtown is somewhat depressing with a lot of cool vacant buildings. I realize the awesome venues that are online and coming , but we need to start focusing on getting these spaces filled.

Tivi Magazine: Vincit moved its headquarters from Hervanta to a new office in Ratina, Tampere. 🏢 The office is centrally located in Tampere making it inviting and easily accessible for both employees and customers, and brings them together into one facility compared to the former two locations in Tampere. 💚 The space differs from an ordinary office. It's carefully and sustainably designed to serve the needs of the organization and its community. Over 95 % of the office furniture is recycled, and the renovation was done respecting only essential renewals in the 2100 m2 space the office occupies in Ratina. 🧑💼 “We don't believe in mandatory office days and Vincitizens will continue to have the freedom to choose where they want to work from. We also understand that not even functional and comfortable facilities bring people permanently to the office, but meeting colleagues will be the reason for people to go to the office more often. Our Helsinki office is a perfect example of this as the utilization rate of the office quadrupled thanks to the new space, and we expect to see the same happen in Tampere too", says Krista Forsström responsible for Vincit's working environment projects. In July, we announced a new £8.1m facility is to be built at the European Marine Science Park in Argyll to help meet increasing demand for offices and laboratory facilities from companies in the growing marine science sector. The new building will be called Camas House. It will be a two-storey 1,500 square metre facility with 11 laboratories and office suites of varying sizes. It will build on the success of the park’s Malin House, which was completed in 2012 and is now home to 15 companies employing more than 70 people.
