The thermal profile is one of the general factors people mention. However, generally the thermal profile is developed quite well and quickly for particular PCB type and it doesn’t change a lot depending on the PCB type. Aside from the flux type, it’s extremely important to follow the on-stencil life cycle and change the solder paste accordingly. Another important factor if the stencil design including solder reduction ratio and aperture shape.
