What if funders, foundations and philanthropists opened up the same kind of space around issues that's needed for communities to connect and realise what's possible? Modelled funder collaboration across issues, approaches and engagement that the social sector is increasingly asked to undertake to maximise maximise impact? Engaged with their grantees with mindfulness, consideration and clarity in the way that VCSE organisations endeavour to engage their beneficiaries? Can you imagine what kind of world would be possible if funders led with their humanity? https://lnkd.in/eiGxfyzz

If you've worked with me before, you'll know I'm passionate about #philanthropy and making sure funding opportunities are equitable and easy to access. Our current funding system, as a whole, is neither of those. It's hard to find the right funding opportunities, it's time consuming to make applications and keeping up with I am so excited to be developing a new tool to help combat these challenges alongside Joshua Vial, Rod Macdonald and Alanna Irving. We're building Fundsorter, a product designed to make contestable funding easier. Our tool will discover the right funding opportunities, draft the funding applications, and provide reminders and updates on reporting, opening dates and new funding opportunities that align with organisational aspirations. This is a very practical tool to help reduce the funding burden and support organisations to spend time, energy and pūtea more effectively. We're currently working with a small number of partners to test our prototype and we're hoping to have a product out in the world early next year. We'd love to launch with a bang, so sign up here to get notified when we go live! Or ping me a DM if you have questions :) https://lnkd.in/gQXTajd8 Huge thanks to everyone who has chatted to us about Fundsorter so far! #fundraising #nonprofitleadership #technology #techforgood #fundingburden Philanthropy New Zealand Philanthropy Australia Michelle Berriman Sinead Kirwan Latesha Hearth Cheryl Reynolds Jenny Gill, ONZM Devon Murphy Dr Christina Howard Rahul Watson Govindan Marianne Elliott Hui E! Funding creative and impactful projects to make a tangible difference. ⤵️ Each year, the Dementia Trust launches it's 'Disruption Awards'. But what are they? And how do they work? 🤔 The awards are an opportunity for individuals, groups or organisations to make a difference for and with people with dementia that can have local, national or even international impact. 💥 👉 Trustees look for ideas that can disrupt or diversify thinking, engage the public imagination, and also attract funders so they can give out more funds to individuals and groups in future awards. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in new research into the nation’s social economy by being part of the Centre for Social Impact longitudinal study to investigate the challenges, opportunities and changing needs of Australia’s not-for-profit and for-purpose organisations. Register for the survey here: https://lnkd.in/gTBzNvxx We take a broad approach to the term 'social economy’ referring to those organisations that are engaged in economic, social, and environmental activities to serve the collective and/or general interest. Obviously, public enterprises and government redistributive activities fit in this broad definition too but for the purposes of the survey we aren't including the government sector. The social economy encompasses charities and other not-for-profit organisations, social enterprises (in the broad), philanthropic organisations, co-ops and mutuals (in all their various forms).

🌱Evaluation as an Ecosystem: Cultivating Equity in the Garden of Transformation This new report by the Equitable Evaluation Collective (EEC) - a collaboration between The Social Investment Consultancy (TSIC) and The Charity Evaluation Working Group ( ChEW) - examines the current state of evaluation practices in the UK charity sector, focusing on equity and using the metaphor of a garden to represent the complex and constantly changing evaluation ecosystem. Recommendations include: ⚖️Putting equity at the heart of all evaluation stages 🤝Building strong community partnerships 💡Valuing diverse knowledge 🌱Promoting continuous learning and advocating for change The study imagines a future where evaluation serves as a tool for social justice, empowerment and accountability, supporting the communities most affected by oppression and marginalisation. It calls on evaluators, funders, and commissioners to take action towards cultivating a fairer, more inclusive, and enriching field of evaluation for all communities involved, like gardeners tending to a flourishing and equitable evaluation ecosystem.
