If you've worked with me before, you'll know I'm passionate about #philanthropy and making sure funding opportunities are equitable and easy to access. Our current funding system, as a whole, is neither of those. It's hard to find the right funding opportunities, it's time consuming to make applications and keeping up with I am so excited to be developing a new tool to help combat these challenges alongside Joshua Vial, Rod Macdonald and Alanna Irving. We're building Fundsorter, a product designed to make contestable funding easier. Our tool will discover the right funding opportunities, draft the funding applications, and provide reminders and updates on reporting, opening dates and new funding opportunities that align with organisational aspirations. This is a very practical tool to help reduce the funding burden and support organisations to spend time, energy and pūtea more effectively. We're currently working with a small number of partners to test our prototype and we're hoping to have a product out in the world early next year. Obviously, public enterprises and government redistributive activities fit in this broad definition too but for the purposes of the survey we aren't including the government sector. The social economy encompasses charities and other not-for-profit organisations, social enterprises (in the broad), philanthropic organisations, co-ops and mutuals (in all their various forms).
