NEWS! SOPROEN, in consortium with APCA NEOPLAN from Ecuador, has been notified as the winners of the contract award titled: Technical Assistance for the Preparation of the National Plan for the Comprehensive Protection of the Rights of the Elderly, with funding from the World Bank. The consultancy involves providing specialized technical assistance to develop a diagnostic assessment of the current state of compliance with the general and specific rights of the elderly population. Additionally, the consultancy will support the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion in setting national targets and identifying indicators to address the issues identified in the diagnostic phase. The technical assistance is geared towards creating comprehensive sectoral and territorial planning guidelines, along with a management model that encompasses both central and territorial coordination strategies to ensure the effective implementation of the National Plan. Moreover, the consultancy will recommend mechanisms for monitoring, follow-up, and evaluation, allowing the overseeing entity to track and assess the implementation of policies ensuring the rights of the elderly. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure robust compliance and continuous improvement in the protection of the elderly population's rights.

Follow the money - How can skills of the future be identified and what contribution can #TeamEurope make? As speaker of the Practitioners' Network for European Development Cooperation's "Private Sector Engagement" working group, I invited jointly with Jakub Šimek, to discuss possible forms of cooperation with the private sector in the development of technical and vocational education and training programs (#TVET). What I have learned: - #Webcrawling is an appropriate method to identify labor market's demand - Organizing #cross-#institutional #collaboration promotes sustainable demand for skills and appropriate curriculum development. - TVET programs and the implementation of the #GlobalGateway should be closely coordinated in future: Where skills are lacking, positive effects on household incomes through infrastructure investment fail to materialize. - Development Cooperation Projects are able to present their #USP in 5 minutes: https://lnkd.in/etc-NvQU - More effective than predicting potential skills needs in the future for different economies is to follow the money and develop offers where large investments are made.

What is a smart community? During the SmartCommUnity project we arrived at two definitions, the first very complex, somewhat academic definition, and a second, simpler definition. 🌍🤝 Exciting news from the recent M&E workshop in Rome! Four Evaluation Directors— Geeta Batra (GEF IEO), Clemencia Cosentino (FAO IOE), Anne-Claire Luzot (WFP), and Allison Grove Smith Smith (CGIAR)— have decided to merge the Earth - Eval and EvalForward platforms into a single, unified community, which will be managed by CGIAR going forward.   This new platform will focus on strengthening the global community of practice, especially across Africa, where most of the top 20 active members are based. While GEF IEO will no longer manage the platform, we will continue to provide content and financial support. A new steering committee of evaluators will be formed to guide content development and ensure meaningful engagement.   The name is still to be decided, but there’s strong support for keeping Earth Eval.
