4 development reflections after 4 months at HopeChest: 1️⃣ Donors will surprise you with their generosity I’ve been blown away by the response of our donors. I knew we were poised for major growth, but it is so encouraging to see the faith in the organization through the overwhelming generosity of our people. 2️⃣ Don’t forget to ask We can fall prey to the trap that donors are going to see the work of our organization and give because we do awesome work. Our work in development is to take that next step and present impactful and fundable opportunities to our donors so that they can make a measurable difference in the world through our organization. 3️⃣ Vision goes a long way Defining where we are going and how we are going to get there helps donors know that their giving is truly building something that will last. Being transparent through that process provides organizational accountability and helps with number 4 below 👇🏻 4️⃣ Relationship and trust are the currency of the Kingdom I’m fortunate to have amazing colleagues who have demonstrated trustworthiness and cultivated relationships with key people over the years. Building upon that foundation and caring for your people well as a top priority is key.
