It is a proud moment for Africa with Nigeria's recent announcement that free emergency Caesarean sections will be made available to underprivileged women in an aim to reduce the maternal mortality rate, which is the third-highest in Africa. GIS plays a significant role in understanding access to public health services and identifying where they are most needed. Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) has notable economic repercussions for Cameroon, impacting productivity and increasing healthcare costs on multiple levels. 1. Healthcare Costs: IPV survivors in Cameroon often require medical services for physical injuries, reproductive health complications, and mental health support, adding strain to the healthcare system. World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that survivors of IPV experience higher incidences of long-term health issues, which require on-going medical care.
