Fireworks, picnics and other Fourth of July traditions can be great fun for people; but all of the festivities can be frightening and even dangerous for animals. Noisy fireworks and other celebrations can startle animals and cause them to run away; holiday foods can be unhealthy; summer heat and travel can be dangerous; and potentially dangerous debris can end up lying on the ground where pets can eat or play with it. Whether or not you’re planning your own Independence Day celebration, it’s important to take precautions to keep your pets safe both during and after Fourth of July festivities. 🎆 Celebrating July 4th with Happy and Healthy Horses! 🐴 The Fourth of July is a great time to celebrate independence and freedom, but it is also a time that can be stressful for people and animals alike. At Gateway HorseWorks, we prioritize the well-being of our herd members during the holiday. Here are the four practices we have in place for the Fourth of July to ensure our horses stay safe and calm during the fireworks and festivities. Proactive Horse Care: Our horses receive a healthy meal with electrolytes to keep them hydrated before the start of the fireworks. Maintaining Routine: To reduce added stress from a change in routine, the horses’ daily schedule, from the time they eat dinner to the time they go outside is kept the same, as every other day. Secure Environment: We ensure the fencing in the pastures is secure to prevent the horses from escaping if startled by loud noises. Our horse’s also have access to a large run-in with fans which help to dull the noise of fireworks. Celebrating Together: Some of our staff celebrate the holiday right here at the farm, enjoying a quiet evening watching over the horses in case they get overwhelmed and need to come into the barn. It’s a wonderful opportunity to observe our horses and ensure they feel secure amidst the festivities while also spending time together as a team. By incorporating these strategies, we ensure our horses have a stress-free Fourth of July celebration alongside our staff members. Our team at Gateway HorseWorks wishes you all a healthy and safe fourth of July! #GatewayHorseWorks #FourthOfJuly #HorseCare #FireworksSafety #EquineHealth

This Christmas season in Fiji brought both challenges and unwavering spirit, particularly in the western regions of Viti Levu. Heavy downpours led to severe flooding, forcing many residents to seek refuge in evacuation centers for their safety. In some areas, floodwaters breached homes, leaving families stranded and their possessions submerged. Despite these hardships, the resilience of the Fijian people shone brightly. Communities rallied together, ensuring that the celebration of Christmas continued amidst adversity. Traditional festivities, including vibrant dances, communal meals, and heartfelt gatherings, persisted, reflecting the indomitable morale of the citizens. The ongoing rain and forecasted showers have yet to dampen the hopes for a brighter New Year's celebration, as residents remain optimistic that the monsoon rains will eventually ease. Fijians hold dear the moments spent with their loved ones during festive seasons, embodying a tradition of togetherness and joy that remains steadfast even in difficult times. This enduring spirit underscores the cultural fabric of Fiji, where the love for family and community triumphs over any obstacle. As the nation looks forward to the new year, there is a collective anticipation for clearer skies and continued celebrations, reinforcing the belief that no challenge can diminish the warmth and unity that define the Fijian way of life.

14 years. 1 mission: keeping pilgrims safe. In 2010, I started Hajj Safe with a simple idea: An Ihram belt that could protect valuables during Hajj and Umrah. Why? Because I’d seen firsthand from pilgrims how stressful it was to keep their belongings secure during the pilgrimage. So, I created a solution: ✔️ An anti-theft Ihram Belt with wire-reinforced straps. ✔️ A product designed so pilgrims could focus on worship—not worry. But it was never just about a bag. With incredible support from the community, Hajj Safe has grown into something so much bigger: - Serving tens of thousands of pilgrims worldwide. - Expanding into markets across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and North Africa. - Innovating products like anti-theft neck bags, Ihram belts, and more. 14 years later, our mission hasn’t changed. We’re still here to give pilgrims peace of mind during one of the most sacred journeys of their lives. It’s incredible to think how a small idea turned into a global solution. And honestly? We’re just getting started. Here’s to 14 years of helping pilgrims focus on what truly matters—and many more to come. ✨ A small idea, rooted in Wales. A global mission, touching millions. Today is WA Day, a celebration of all things wonderful about Western Australia. Amidst the festivities, it’s worth reflecting on some of the unique rules that keep this great state in order. In the grand tapestry of legal rules and regulations, Western Australia has sewn a particularly unique patch. In this special corner of the world that I call home, it's illegal to clean up after seagulls without a proper licence. Yes, under Section 387 of the Criminal Code Act 1913 (WA), if you dare to remove guano without official permission, you might find yourself spending a year-long stint behind bars. So next time you're out enjoying the pristine beaches of WA and feel an urge to tidy up, remember: leave the guano be, or it’s off to the clink with you! Rules, especially in the workplace, need to be current and make sense. Whether it's mandating the use of hardhats when there are no overhead hazards or requiring workers to don gloves when there's no risk that requires them, it's important to ensure that our rules serve a valid purpose. Do you have any rules at your workplace that don’t make sense? Happy WA Day! 🦢💩 #Rules #Regulations
