Things that I love (in no particular order): 1. Training. Creating the training and standing in front of a room delivering the training. 2. Developing employees to bring out their confidence at work. 3. OneWorld’s commitment to developing its employees by building a new facility devoted to developing employees and the future of our community (i.e. our new childcare facility)!!!!
Big news! Our CEO, Andrea Skolkin, formally announced that a new health care workforce development center is coming to our headquarters in South Omaha. The new building will allow us to grow our health care workforce development programming, expand behavioral health services and offer early child development services. The project is made possible by funding from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, the Nebraska Department of Economic Development and other foundations. Construction begins in the spring. Over the next few years, every family in San Francisco will have access to supportive early care, education, and services for healthy childhood development. This isn't just wishful thinking- it's a reality that DEC is actively creating through a transformative change already starting to take place. If you're interested to learn more about our strategic plan for advancing universal access, head to sfdec.org/strategic-plan.

Love the commitment to action. First: listen to the perspectives and experiences of the people you’re designing for. Next: commit real resources to test those ideas. Future: scale up what works.
High impact collaborative executive public sector leader with proven track record of leading large scale change within complex systems in collaboration with our community partners and residents.
Amazing things start to happen when young people voices and needs are centered in creating programs that are aimed at supporting them. Kudos to ECMC Group, GREATER MSP Partnership and others for creating a space to hear youth and then taking ideas to action. This Co-Lab is one of the strategies that is being tested. I am grateful to serve as an advisor to the work and increase connections in our community. And I am thrilled that City of Saint Paul and Ramsey County is home to this pilot!

It's the 3rd week of school in Tennessee and while families are settling in to the school year, it's important to note that building an effective home-shool partnership is important for your child's success. Children do their best when they have the skills, support, and motivation to do so. By collaborating with your child’s school, you increase opportunities for your child to get the support they need. At Pensacola Habitat, we know that safe, decent housing is the key to better health, education, financial opportunity and much more. The historical practice of redlining, which has been used to keep neighborhoods of color from attaining the same wealth and economic opportunities as White neighborhoods, goes against what we stand for. Consider how you can help us and other community organizations invest in building these underserved communities up and establishing fair and equitable opportunities for all. To read more about the hazardous health effects of redlining, click here: https://ow.ly/X6R950QyPMJ
