Czech UAV manufacturer Primoco UAV SE has moved significantly closer to completing certification under the internationally applicable NATO STANAG 4703 standard. A series of tests at the Institute of Aeronautical Engineering of the Czech Technical University were successfully completed, proving the mechanical parameters of the aircraft and its structural operational safety. This is a world first for an unmanned machine. So far, only manned aircraft have been subjected to full-scale testing. “Although the airframe of the One 150M has undergone only a few minor modifications compared to the original design, tests have shown that it achieves even greater durability compared to manned aviation designs,” says Ladislav Semetkovskyý, CEO of Primoco UAV. Structural tests are one of the most important areas of aircraft type certification, consisting of hundreds of different tests. Similarly important was the engine performance testing that the One 150M successfully underwent at the end of last year. Indian defence and aerospace startup Flying Wedge has unveiled India's first indigenously-built bomber unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) called FWD-200B. The aircraft is a medium altitude, long endurance (MALE) UAV with a fuel capacity of 100 kg and features optical surveillance payloads. Our DROPS system is already being recognized by the US #military. Over the last 2 years we have been awarded 7 DoD grants totaling over $4million. Teaming up with our research partners at the University of Colorado’s Research Center for Unmanned Vehicles (RECUV) we are working closely with the US Army on several research projects to develop next-generation capability, from tactical resupply to command and control in degraded environments, to the recovery of critical assets and CASEVAC missions. Industry is also recognizing the significance of DROPS, with partnership deals with UAV manufacturers and payload manufacturers being announced very soon – watch this space! It was first unveiled in 2018 and completed its maiden flight in January 2021. The WJ-700 features a maximum takeoff weight of 3,500 kg, payload capacity exceeding 800 kg, and can engage targets up to 100 km away. Its speed reaches approximately 700 km/h, with an operational ceiling of 15,000 m and endurance of up to 20 hours.
