A digital collage animation and a handmade collage animation can be made indistinguishable from each other. And it only takes 3 steps: - Add roughen edges and/or turbulent displace to create inconsistencies between different frames. In frame-by-frame animation there's an effort to try to minimize any imperfection, here we want to create and maximize these inconsistencies. - Use textures to make everything look tangible and real and make every mark look hand drawn. - Add the posterize time effect and set it to 12. This way everything will run at 12 frames per second and it helps give the illusion of traditional frame-by-frame animation. Removing the Luma channel and changing various parameters of the footage leads to truly amazing and unimaginable results, revealing ordinary animation from a new side 💥✨ It's probably my favorite variation of all. In the process of drawing characters and even scenes and props for animation, you might encounter situations where you'll have to choose between using outline on a particular drawing or removing the outlines. Now, while there is no standard way of doing things, as everyone has different styles and creative flow, here's two things to note: 1. Your outline must match or not be too different from the previous drawing, especially if it's for a single character or prop etc. This includes color and thickness. Don't let it vary in difference, if not, it can make the character have a bad look generally. 2. Be very creative whilst outlining and also have people who you can show your designs to for genuine critiquing as you need that to grow better. Unknown! Interesting cylinder animation, this one was fun to develop. I created a stack of my letters and offset them, to give them each a chance to revolve at a different part of the animation, before they clicked in to place. I added a dark grey background and offset the text with a light blue glow. 💧DROP OF NOSTALGIA💧 I made this shot ~5 years ago as another practice in a frame-by-frame animation. I called this work "DROP OF NOSTALGIA" because it has a retro mood, and also, nostalgia works by starting with a little drop like a flashback that swallows you. This naming becomes deeper considering how much has happened over time.
